Setting our Hope on Him Trip to Peru for Two

Its been a month of downs and more downs for
us here. We had a close call with a neighbors
brush fire that got out of hand. (The picture
above is the fire department trying to extinguish
the flames before they reached our home!) We
got word that the church was robbed while we
are still rallying from the catastrophe of the
radio unfortunate lightning strike that caused
thousands of dollars worth of damage to the
equipment.
We had a great time at the South American
Regional Conference for Field Coordinators
working with Missionary Ventures. It was our
first trip without Timmy since he was born
almost five years ago (almost like a second
honeymoon)! We both had the opportunity to
present what weve learned and receive great
insights from our colleagues around the
continent.

Since that incident on April 25, we had no

internet or telephone for almost a month. Not
to mention, we cant get rid of the fleas that are
plaguing our feet (and our dog) every single day.

We recognize that these situations are no

coincidence. Before Jesus sent out his twelve
disciples he told them, Stay alert. This is
hazardous work I'm assigning you. You're going
to be like sheep running through a wolf pack, so
don't call attention to yourselves. Be as cunning
as a snake, inoffensive as a dove. Matt 10:16

 Preparing to Prepare Students

We are working on our microenterprise projects for the training institute.

Tonight we are selling our second batch of peanut butter and we really
have found a tasty recipe!

We are visiting our 4th training school this week and have been working
on the budget for our first year.

We start visiting churches Aug-Oct to recruit students for 2011.

World Cup as an Evangelistic Tool

On the eve of Paraguay's second World Cup game, the entire country is looking for a win
against Slovakia this Sunday morning. As our country gears up with excitement for the games,
we've been preparing as well. We cut down a bamboo post from the lake area nearby to add
some major height to our TV antennae!

Also, we've been praying over various people that we hope to invite over to watch the games.
One of the first neighbors we invited was someone we've felt burdened to pray for.

While he talked a lot during the game; he started sharing

with us about one of his friends who is having a lot of
problems. Norberto told him he'd be happy to go talk to
his friend and the next morning he went to visit Mr.
Morales. The man immediately acknowledged how he
needed God to take control of his life and he shared how
he wanted to start a relationship with the Lord.

Now, Norberto is starting discipleship with Mr. Morales and we pray that we continue to reach out
to those around us using the World Cup as a great reason to bring people together!
