Topics to discuss:

Professional growth goals

How to meet those goals
How might these goals impact student learning?
What types of professional learning or resources are
needed?

Reflection
DIRECTIONS: With your support provider, use evidence from the observation to capture key insights about your
teaching and develop a professional learning goal/ inquiry. Share and discuss during the post observation
conversation.
Post-Observation Key Insights & Development of Professional Learning Goal/ Inquiry
Participating teacher reflection (paragraph or 5 bullets): Idea: How did the lesson go? Any surprises?

Overall the lessons went well. The students were very receptive to the talk about the election and
I think it calmed some fears that they were having.
I was able to keep my opinion and feelings out of the election talk and provided them ideas that
would calm fears of students.
Students were very receptive to election talk and provided their own thoughts.
Powerpoint Jeopardy test review was designed well and students stayed engaged throughout.
KWL Chart on WWI showed me what the students remembered about WWI and what they would
like to know about.

Key observation evidence shared (paragraph or 5 bullets): Idea: what stood out? What supports the teachers reflection?
What can the teacher use, learn from or implement in future teaching?

Students while engaged struggled with a few questions the way that they were presented in the
test review.
Next time I use the review I will make the questions more specific so I do not to redirect the
students.
Students are used to taking multiple choice test, so having to come up with an answer without
options was a struggle for them at times. Though it made them think more critically so I think it
was good for them.
After students took the test they said that the review helped them on the test.
KWL chart will help me create future lessons by reviewing what students know about WWI and
what they want to know about WWI.

Development of Professional Growth Goal/ Inquiry: (minimum 1 required): Find a general or specific area of development
for inquiry. Connect it to your professional development goal discussed in observation notes CSTP 6 Developing as a
Professional Educator. This information will be used in completing the I ndividual Learning Plan (ILP).

As a teacher I will expand my knowledge and effective application of new instructional methods and technologies.
