Appointment of Legat Services Advocates from Nyaya Bharti- NGO in Tihar Jails as
Jail Visiting Advocates.
This Authority vide order dated 05.LL.IOLG appoints and nominates the following Legal
Services Advocates of NGO- Nyaya Bharti, as Jail Visiting LSAs for providing Legal Aid Services
in the Jails and their Placements and Roster of Duties shall be as under:-

this Office order the above named LSAs are being intimated regarding allocation of
Jails, Duty Roster and are impressed upon to comply with the directions of this Authority as

The above named LSAs are being nominated initially for a period of three months only,

Z. The above named LSAs shall visit once in a week in their

respective Jails as per the

Roster issued from this Authority time to time'

Their appointment is purely on Pro-Bono basis and they shall not be entitled for any
remuneration.

4.

The above named nominated LSAs shall perform the following functions:

The above named LSAs shall provide free legal aid and services under the
domain of the DSLSA for an initial period of three months'

ll.

That the above named LSAs shall visit the Jails allocated to them and shall work
in complete coordination and synergy with the other LSAs of this Authority'

lll.

That the enlisted LSAs shall also visit the allocated Jails to have interaction with

the inmates and redress their legal grievances.

lV.

That the enlisted LSAs shall strictly follow the time visit schedule that may be

provided by this Authority.

V.

That the enlisted Legal Services Advocates shall submit the following report to

the District Legal Services Authority of the concerned Jail, at the end of every
month:-

a) Number of visits to the Jail;

b) Timing absorbed on such visits;

c)

Details and number of the Under Trial Prisoners/lnmates/convicts with whom

they interacted;

d) The problems which are being faced by the inmates and which need to

be

immediately addressed;

e)

The details of the convicts who have not been able to file any appeal against the

Order of conviction and sentence before the High Court of Delhi;

Suggestion, if any, for improvement in the delivery of quality Legal Service.

The above mentioned schedule of postings and timings of visits in Jails may be changed
by this Authority and necessary information shall be uploaded on the official website

of

this Authority i.e. dslsa.org.
