INTRODUCTION

Purpose of the research:


The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among technological
leadership of principals and the technological literacy and teaching effectiveness
of elementary school teachers. The study also explores the notions that
principals` technology leadership, as mediated by teachers` technological literacy,
can effect teaching effectiveness.

METHODOLOGY
What is the methodology for the research or approach used to understand the
issue? Provide information regarding the following:

Participants:
The target population consisted of 1000 randomly selected from 100 elementary
schools in different areas.
The survey was randomly sent to elementary school in six metropolitan cities in
Taiwan.
Procedures:
The survey was randomly sent to the Directors of Academic Divisions of each
elementary school. Then, the Director randomly selected the teachers based on
the cover letter sent to the school. The survey asked teachers to evaluate the

principal`s role in the leading and facilitating technology use, teachers`


technological literacy and teaching effectiveness in their schools.
Data Collection Methods/Data Source:
Teachers evaluate by reporting to their principals.
Data Analysis:
This research empirically investigated the relationship among principals`
technological leadership, teachers`, technological literacy, and teaching
effectiveness and tested the structural equation model (SEM). SPSS was used to
calculate scale reliabilities and to perform factor analysis. The final SEM model
was done with LISREL.

RESULTS
Findings or Results (or main points of the article):
The finding confirmed the previous research that principals` technological literacy
development and directly influenced teachers` integration of technology into their
teaching practices. Moreover, teachers` technological literacy directly affected teaching
effectiveness. Principals` technological leadership also improved teachers` teaching
effectiveness.

Lastly, principals who listens to teachers` advice and opinions while providing them
with sufficient support will make their school`s operational development more
productive.
REFLECTIONS
Students Reflections (changes to your understanding; implications for your
school/work):
Principals have a very important role at school development. Once principal is interested in developing his
own and teachers technology literacy as well then it will be easier to conduct any task related to technology
and education. It will be easier to integrate both. School teachers programs will be more effective and more
interesting, moreover students performance also will increase as they will be first motivated by
acknowledged teachers who are motivated to discover themselves.
