Case Study #1 Not-For Profit Medical Research Center

Project Objective
The project objective is to implement a new annual report format that willgenerate
funds and donations for research efforts.The current black and whitevoluminous
report will be replaced with an easy to read, multi-colored document that shows the
benefits of the centers research and impact on peoples lives. The documents will
be printed and mailed by November 15.

List of assumptions:

The new report will help raise money and will compete against other large
not-for-profit organizations for funding and donations.
No additional training is necessary to complete this project.
The four members of this team will be available full time for the duration of
this project.
Funds will be available to support the full time staff.
Cameras, PCs, cell phones, recording devices and computer software will be
available for the team members during the project.
Funds will be available forout-of-office travel which will include contractor
visits, travel to collect testimonials from families impacted by the research
and business trips to take pictures of facilities that use the results of the
centers research.
Patients and families will be willing to give testimonials for the publication.
Funds will be available to contract the designing, printing, and distribution of
the annual report.
Financial information for the results will be available by October 15.
The plan will be presented to the board of directors on May 15.
