14th BRAZILS KIDS FILM FESTIVAL BKFF 2016

REGULATIONS
1. INTRODUCTION
The 14th Brazils Kids Film Festival takes place from September to
November 2016 in different Brazilian cities. Submissions for feature and
short films, as well as TV series, are open until May 23rd, 2016.
Brazils Kids Film Festivals goal is to broaden and stimulate the Brazilian
youths interest in high quality and culturally diverse films. In addition, the
Festival promotes the connection between international filmography and the
Brazilian market to increase interest for international kids oriented films.
Our programming presents a selection of around 100 works and we choose
3 to 4 films a year to be dubbed to Portuguese. Other films selected will be
voiced over during the exhibitions.
BKFF targets an audience of children and teenagers and offers a selection of
features and short films from different countries, including recent and not
so recent films as well as unforgettable classics.

2. SUBMISSIONS
The submission form available at www.fici.com.br shall be filled.
We accept Links for streaming/ download, as long as the platform is free of
charges and the link has no expiring date.
We also accept DVDs. Please post the copy of the film in an identified
envelope (senders name, e-mail, telephone and address) to:

ATTENTION: The Festival cannot afford to pay for any custom taxes. To
avoid having your package taxed at Brazilian customs, you must declare a
maximum value of US$7.

Please write on the package:

No commercial value. For cultural purposes only. No pornographic
material.
Even doing so, there is no warranty that there will not be taxes charged.
Brazilian customs sometimes charge very high amounts for international
shipments. The BKFF does NOT hold responsibility for any expenses
regarding shipment of selection screeners.
Submissions of international productions will be accepted until May 23rd,
2016 (postmarked date). Any material posted after this date will be
disqualified.
There is no submission fee.
Rules for submission
1. We will accept films and TV series made in any format and in any year.
2. Screening format must be a high quality link (with password, when
needed) or DVD.
3. Films that present scenes of drug use, explicit sex or violence will be
disqualified.
4. You are allowed to submit more than one film. In this case, please fill in
one submission form for each film.
5. We will only accept copies in DVD or links for selection. Other media will
not be accepted.
6. The selection copy must have English subtitles in case original language
is neither English nor Portuguese.
7. The links shall be sent to programming@fici.com.br
8. We also accept submissions through Click for Festivals
(www.clickforfestivals.com), except for Brazilian films, which shall be
submitted exclusively through www.fici.com.br

3. SELECTION
The list of the films selected by our Selection Committee will be available by
August, 2016 on our website www.fici.com.br. We will contact the

applicants of the selected films by e-mail (well use the e-mail address
informed on the submission form).
The Selection Committees decision is sovereign and cant be appealed.

4. GENERAL
1. Selection copies wont be returned to the sender, they remain part of the
festivals archive.
2. BKFFs organization wont hold responsibility for any damage to the
shipped material done during transportation.
3. The applicant authorizes the transmission of a maximum of 1 (one)
minute of the film on TV and/or Internet for Festival marketing purposes.
4. The use of images and soundtrack on the films are the filmmakers
responsibility.
5. By submitting a film you authorize the Festival to screen it as a part of
the Festivals programming.
6. By taking part of the submission process, the participant fully accepts
these regulations.
