Huatraco Scaffold Sdn Bhd, a member of public-listed company Hiap Teck
Venture Bhd,
was incorporated in 1992 as a manufacturer of a wide range of quality steel products in
Malaysia. Its main products, scaffolding and formwork, are distributed under the trade
mark of Huatraco.
Over the years, the company has expanded its product range by investing in the production
of heavy shoring and modular systems from France. Recently, it has signed a licence
agreement with an Australian company for the manufacturing and marketing of another
new product, the Perimeter Safety Screens. This product is highly technical and shall be
used as access platform for the construction of new buildings.
Besides supplying numerous types of scaffolding and formwork products on hire or sale,
the company renders services in design drawings, technical advice and support, on-site
assistance, stock delivery planning and contracting. Together with its subsidiary, Huatraco
Singapore Pte Ltd, the company provides customers throughout Southeast Asia with cost
effective specialist solutions in scaffolding & formwork engineering.

Erection Procedures
1
Position the jack bases at the intervals determined

by the ledgers. Fit the basis standards into the jack
bases. Fit the first plan braces, rings downwards.
Clamp the 1st level of ledgers. Insert and lock the

first lift of triangle. Check the structure is level.
Fit the second lift of the triangle, reverse the direction

of triangle.
Position temporary platforms, check the contact of

vertical posts/standards using the sighting device
provided on each triangle sleeve. The upper and
lower tubes should be in contact at each leg.
Erection must be carried out from inside the

towers. Fit the triangle at lift 3, observing the safety
regulations, protected by the triangle of the lower
lift. The temporary platforms from lift 1 are moved
to lift 2.
Fit triangle at lift 4, still working safety from second

platform. Reverse the direction of the triangle.
Link up the standard with the ledgers. Insert the

U-heads into the vertical posts/standards.
Complete the service platform for fitting girders,

joists, wall pieces and formwork panels. This
platform should remain in position to allow for
inspection, levelling and removing of formwork.

Basics Of Assembling External Scaffolding
1. Lay wooden planks in horizontal position and install jack

bases.
2. Insert vertical frames into jack base as per drawing.
3. Insert arm locks to ensure stability and safety.
4. Fix the cross braces to the frames.
5. Fix the lock into walking frame. It is recommended that
walking frame be installed in alternate 3 -5 stories.
6. Insert joint pins into each ends of the frame and repeat the
above process for greater heights.

Adjust the height

Steel Props are made of pipes of high quality material

attached with accessories. They replace timber props in
construction as they are easy to assemble, economical
to use and time saving.
1. Easy to assemble
a) Extend tube to required height.
b) Set pin through hole of inner tube.
c) Obtain exact height by sliding the screw position
for minor adjustment.

2. Economical to use
Steel props take more weight than timber props.
They can be placed up to 2 metres apart depending
on circumstances and less numbers are used making

it economical.

3. Time Saving
Fewer props means less labour involved and ease of
assembling also saves time.
