Analyzing Data Assignment

Connie Hildreth

Consider what the data is telling you. For this final step, in a Word document you will include
a section on what you see from the data. Tell us what you learned about your students'
performance and your teaching.
I learned a great deal from the data in excel that showcases my students performance on a test that
included addition, subtraction, and division questions. I learned that some students excelled in both
addition and subtraction but that most of my class will need more specific attention to all areas of
work as the percentages were varied and the range of all percentages was 60%. I learned that I can
tailor my curriculum to benefit my students comprehension based on the utilization of excel to help
me recognize which students need specific help and in which areas of study specific attention is
necessary.
How well is the class doing as a whole group? Provide two statements.
1. My class is not performing well as a whole group and we will need to re-evaluate my
teaching method and review the material to ensure the class can be as successful as possible.
2. My class is scattered in their performance with less than half of the class performed at a
70% or higher on the assessment, I will work with all of my students to be sure the material
is understood and future scores reflect a higher class average.
Which individuals are doing well and in what topics? Describe at least 3 students.
