MARKET
AUTO-SPRINKLER AGRICULTURAL MACHINE

The Philippines is no longer an agricultural country. It has shifted from an

agricultural economy to one that is based on manufacturing and services to
achieve the most sought after "Newly Industrialized Country Status". The leaders
chose not to rely on agriculture because while the sector take up 30% of the total
work force it contributes to just 14% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), The Philippines has a total
land area of about 30 million hectares and approximately 9.67 million hectares of which are
classified as agricultural. The agricultural land area represents 32.22% of the total land area
of the country. This explains why the data from the May 2014 Quick Stat show that in
January 2014, in terms of employment, the agriculture sector takes up 10.93 million persons
out of the total 36.42 million workforce which accounts to 30% of the total employment. The
figures clearly show that basically, Philippines is an agricultural country.
Intriguingly, however, if we compare figures, there was a huge drop in farming
related employment. In October 2013, or just three (3) months earlier, PSA recorded 45.2%
farmers. The number of persons involved in agriculture is constantly decreasing every year.
Primarily, this is because the new generations of job seekers do not consider farming as a
profitable employment. The Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (now PSA) conducted a study a
few years ago and their findings show that an average farmer earns only about Php 20,000
per year. That is just less than Php 2,000 per month which way below the poverty line is. This
explains why farming has become one of the least liked jobs in the country today. In fact, as
early as September 8, 2011, Kristine L. Alave, through the Philippine Daily Inquirer, stated
that the "Philippines is running out of farmers".

There are two things the agricultural sector needs to improve on and
nothing more, nothing less:
1.) It is the improvement of its technological tools as well as shifting
the industry towards becoming capital-intensive. In an aggregate sense,
technological progress in capital would mean the purchase of better
equipment, as near as possible to the state of the art.
2.) Technological progress in labor (farmers) would mean that they
become more educated, and this education should prove that it is not
optimal for the farmers to do manual labor without the use of machines;
this is very inefficient.

Your crops arent going to do so well without consistent watering,

fertilizing and planting of seeds. Unless you plan to stand in your garden or
field with a hose a few nights each week, plan on getting an auto-sprinkler
agricultural machine. This could be as simple as a mobile app installed in
your smart phones that whenever its time to water the plants, fertilize your
crops and plan another set of seeds, its just one click away and its ready to
work for you.
The target market that his machine will going to serve are the farm
owners and coordination with the Asian Farmers Association or Rural
Development so this might be implemented for each of the farm owners
around the Philippines that would help their crops produced in the fastest
way possible.
1.) Farm owners the scope of this target market will target
farmers coming from Central Luzon and Western Visayas region since
according to the Country Pasture/Forage Resource Profile data, Rice
and corn occupy 41 and 24 percent, respectively, of the total
agricultural area. Of the 4 million hectares grown to rice, 2.72 million
hectares were irrigated.
2.) Asian Farmers Association or Rural Development - AFA
invites national farmers organizations as members and works with NGOs in
facilitating the

formation of national farmers organizations and in

continuously building their

capacities which will help us to connect with

more famers who are need of his help.

Land utilization in the Philippines is shown in Table 1. Of the
country's total land area, forest land has the highest share with 65% as of
1996 (NLUC 2002). Agricultural land has about 33%, while those used for
inland fisheries, settlements and open land account for 2, 0.44 and 0.04%,
respectively. Mining and quarrying has the least with only 0.03 percent. At

present, grazing on forest lands for livestock production is found on steep 18

to 50% slopes.

II. PRODUCT OR SERVICES

Our company will offer our main product which is the autosprinkler agricultural machine which will be an aid for farmers in spraying
pesticides, plotting of seeds and sprinkling water into the crops. He
automated device will be controlled through an android or ios application.

In order for the auto-sprinkler machine to function, we will provide an

established application which will be an aid for controlling the machine and
will make it as efficient and effective as possible.

FEATURES OF THE AUTO-SPRINKLER MACHINE

It has three uses which we called as SPS meaning SPRAYING, PLOTTING
AND SPRINKLING, we have the following:
Seed drills- used for plotting. These are tractor attachments that insert
seeds into the ground with minimal soil disturbance. They are most often
used for row crops (such as grains), cover crops, and grasses or forage.
There are no-till seed drills and traditional seed drills.
Hydro drill- It is the system wherein the machine itself will sprinkle water
to the plans by simply operating it though a designed application. Benefits
are being able to grow a lot of food in a small space, using less water than

soil-cultivated gardens, being able to grow indoors and generally faster plant
growth.
Electric Spray drill - With power spraying the source of power is either an
electric or gasoline engine wherein the designed mobile application is the
main controller of the sprayer. In all cases, the liquid is ejected by the
action of a pump through hoses or wands and finally through a nozzle or
groups of nozzles.
