SECTION FIVE:
BENEFIT TO YOUR HOME COUNTRY
The good news is that the Internet has grown like a weed, and many welcome it as a tool for productivity and enlightenment; the
bad news is that it is almost unknown in developing nations. This statements offers the hypothesis that computer networks can improve
life in developing nations like Tanzania at a relatively low cost. I begin with a brief discussion of development, followed by some of
the ways computer networks might help, and conclude with a look at what can be done.
Economic Productivity. In recent telecommunication investments in Tanzania increased. According to the government revenue
"very large economic returns" from the telecommunications sectors collected up to august 2016. Computer networks run over
telephone infrastructure at relatively small marginal cost, providing increased economic benefit. Therefore, after completing my
masters in Network engineering I will have gained enough knowledge and experience to participate in Economic production of the
country
Education. Taking example Chile, the support structure has been decentralized through the country with 15 universities
participating. One of their strong beliefs is that the teachers are at the center of the network. The advantages of networks to academies
are obvious databases are shared, conferences organized, papers circulated and discussed, collaborative research and writing
undertaken, and so forth. As an engineer I realize that I have a great debt to bring changes in my country, and this encouraged me to
apply for masters in Networking through this scholarship
Health Care. We are also seeing early application of networks to health care in developed nations. For example, Health Network
links health care workers in 16 African nations and 4 Asian nations with each other and with colleagues and databases in developed
nations using a variety of communication protocols over leased and switched land lines and terrestrial and satellite. Note that Health
Network uses satellite technology, which may have great promise for developing nations like Tanzania.
What is needed?
Well Trained and Qualified Network Engineer. If we believe networks are achievable by and valuable for developing nations like
Tanzania, this is a Technical leveller. Networks require complementary resources, and trained people. While offering both depth and
breadth across this field, these courses put into perspective the importance and relevance of Network engineering and the application of
its fundamentals to the problems faced by the real world. So, I realize that learning and developing my knowledge in Network
Engineering will have a great contribution to the society since our country begins to transfer manual system to computerized or
industrialized.
Moreover, I feel I am responsible for making a big move in this field and this scholarship will give me a big chance to be one day
someone who is remembered for his innovations. It is our duty as people sharing life in this world to make our future better because the
future is not only ours. Our grandchildren should be proud of us one day when they look back and find how hard we worked to make
the world a better place.
