S UMMARY
Over thirty years of electro-mechanical engineering, management, mechanical designs,
manufacturing and machining experience. I first attained my Mechanical Technology degree
from Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemead. From there I worked as a machinist and
then as an apprentice in plastic injection mold making with Dauntless Molds in Covina. I
embarked on getting my Electrical Engineering degree from California State Polytechnic
University of Pomona to expand my engineering capabilities. With this attained knowledge
and hands on experience, my designs implement all three areas for manufacturability and
optimization. Effective project leader and expertise in product development, mechanical
designs and equipment design from conceptual phase through completion. Technical leader
on the ECR review board, MRB sign off and document control. Skilled at improving products
and assembly time, along with increasing yields in production and reducing costs. Proficient
in MS Office, PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD/Inventor, SolidWorks and ANSI/ASME Y14.5M
GD&T standards.

Rendered oversight and support to manufacturing on the software programming, production,
and test with assembly tooling, assembly procedures and troubleshooting issues
Career Accomplishments:
Implemented changes which improved the yield of outside part vendors by visiting and
recommending various machining techniques and drawing changes for fabrication
Minimized the time of incoming inspection of parts for assembly from two weeks down to a
few days by employing changes to the SOP to inspect only critical dimensions and geometric
tolerances
Designed and fabricated the controls on the UV bonding machine via Koyo PLC, stepper
motors, adhesive dispenser machine and HMI. Successfully implemented dispensing unit to
decrease bonding time from one hour to five minutes per catheter, thereby attaining 99%
process yield and reducing assemblers from three to one
Spearheaded the redesign of the fluter machine to flute an angioplasty balloon. This involved
replacing the control systems with a PLC and HMI. Designed fixtures to align and calibrate
forming blades (up to 8 total) to reduce assembly and testing time from two days to several
hours.
Axelgaard Manufacturing Co, Fallbrook, Ca
Electrical Engineer / Engineering Manager 20042008
Managed the engineering department on designs, production and equipment of
neurostimulation electrodes
Worked closely with the VP of Engineering and CEO on new equipment designs, equipment
upgrades, process control, and product testing of new high volume low cost electrodes
Rendered effectual support to the quality engineering on all aspects of inspection criteria,
methods, and documentation for incoming components; as well as the production area in
providing technical solutions to assembly processes and machine adjustments
Standardized Automation Direct control systems throughout the company, PLC programming
techniques, electrical schematics, and machining; and maintained precision in evaluating
mechanical designs for manufacturability
Produced operating manuals, maintenance specs, and spearheaded the training and set-up of
the production line
Career Accomplishments:
Played an integral role in directing the design teams in building automation equipment for inhouse production; performed consistent upgrading of the equipment to enhance yields and
reduce cycle times
Implemented various standards for PLC hardware, programming techniques, servomotors and
stepper motors, controllers, and sensors throughout the company
Guaranteed accuracy in creating installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ),
and performance qualification (PQ) protocols in validating new equipment
Effectively served as liaison between engineering and manufacturing for prototypes and
processes for production
Directed the project of building gel pilot line machine of new gels which reduced costs and
improved process efficiency; developed the electrode lamination assembly machine for highvolume low cost electrodes
Conducted successful completion of electronic controls for the upgrade of snap placement
machine with six stepper motors and snap location centers entered through keypad on HMI
Magnecomp Corporation, Temecula, Ca
Advanced Process Development Engineer 20012003
Spearheaded the implementation of new state of the art technologies on suspension
read/write assemblies for the disk drive industry (data storage). These products included
Seagate, Western Digital and other one inch drives and included testing, documentation,
process evaluation and transfer to overseas for high-volume production.
