Dearest friends and students:

Welcome to the Spoken English Language Group of Instituto Politecnico Students, ESE.. I am called
George Nchumbonga Lekelefac and I am the Professor of the Spoken English Language Class. The idea to
begin a Spoken English Course was brought up by Prof. George and later authorized and greatly supported by
Prof. Dr. David Robles Ortiz, Coordinator of Languages at the IPN, ESE.
It is with great delight that I present to you the Spoken English Language Class Newsletter whose aim is to
inform students about the existence of such a class. Most Mexicans want to speak English properly because it is
a requirement for them to obtain a degree at the University. In addition, they also want to practice their English
because English has become indispensable for them to travel abraod on scholarship and also to get a job. Most
of the students have a difficulty to find an environment in which they can practise their English.
Thus the presence of a Spoken English Course at the Escuela de Economia authorised and encouraged by
Prof. Dr. David Robles Ortiz, Coordinator of the Language Department has been greatly appreciated by the first
ever students of this course. The students have been so happy about the course and most of them have expressed their impression about the course and all they were able to learn and improve their English. The Spoken
English Course began on the Monday 17th of October 2016 and ended on Thursday 15th of December 2016.
The topics done included; Travelling, Education, Jobs and Interviews, Phrasal verbs, Prepositions, and English
idioms. Each student in the course has expressed his mind as you would discover in this newsletter. The students themselves were able to write an article about their impresssion and things they learnt throughout the course.
In conclusion, I would like to sincerely thank Prof. Dr. David Robles Ortiz who made this course possible. He was very interested from the beginnnig and has a great interest in the students. It has been a great opportunity collaborating with you Dr. David Robles Ortiz. Thank you. I use this
opportunity to wish each and everyone a very Merry Christmas and happy New year 2017. God bless you and many blessings and peace, Amen.

IMPRESSION ABOUT THE COURSE AND WHAT THEY LEARNT.

My Experience In the Spoken English course by Rangel Gonzalez Lucia.

I like the Spoken English class because It gave me the opportunity to improve and practice English. I learnt new
English words. Tthe professor is a good person and explains very well. He clarifies and elucidates all my doubts. However with regards to the homework , it was not easy for me because I was not used to writing so much in English.
I had the opportunity to learn many different vocabularies which are used at specific moments: for example vocabulary on Education, Travelling, job interviews and work. Secondly, I found the course important because in my
other general English classes, I didnt learn the vocabularies mentioned above. This was very important for me because in the future , it would facilitate my getting a job thanks to the vocabularies learnt on job interviews and work; It
was the best subject for me or the most important. The Spoken English Class motivated me to study and improve my
English and also motivated me to study other languages like French, and other languages. When professor
Nchumbonga talked to us about Canada, it was very interesting for me and I would like to go to Canada in the future. I
need to practice more English although my English is not so good, but the course encouraged me.
With professor Nchumbonga, I improved my English level because he would listen to me and correct me. I would
like to take the spoken English classes with Prof. Nchumbonga George again!! Thank you.

My Personal Experience in the Spoken English Course by Vianey Maximino Magaa.

In the last two months of the spoken English course, I have learnt a lot of English vocabulary about traveling
which I consider very important because it is an activity that I do a lot. I usually go on vacation twice or trice a
year. So far I have only gone to places within my country, but I hope that in December or January, I will travel to
Canada with my boyfriend. I think that when Ill in there, the vocabularies learnt in the topic on travelling will be of
great help. In addition, I learnt how to prepare myself for a job interview which is of great importance because I
had done two interviews and I have been silent because I did not know how to answer the questions. This made
me embarrassed to speak in English. In addition, I did not know so much vocabulary. Now I think I have a higher
level and I will try to control my nerves to be able to express myself better in English although I still need to practice a lot because I am very slow, even thinking in English.
The parts that I considered most helpful to me was the third topic on how to use English prepositions because I had a hard time connecting ideas in sentences. I think that I have to do more exercises on prepositions to
be able to use them well in a correct and formal way. The second important part was the fourth topic on phrasal
verbs because in the normal English courses only some common phrasal verbs are seen. In the spoken English course, we had the opportunity to
study many phrasal verbs which I had never studied before. Phrasal verbs is most useful and mostly used when talking with someone, reasons why
I found it important to improve my spoken English. I have to invest more time in practicing them. I would like to know if there will be more phrasal
verbs in the next English spoken course. I really want to study more phrasal verbs.
To conclude, I liked the Spoken English course a lot. I even learnt so many things about the English culture, anecdotes and thoughts. I
thank Prof. Nchumbonga George for his great patience with me and I hope he could teach me French because I think I could learn it a faster.
Thank you Prof. Nchumbonga George Lekelefac.

My Experience In the Spoken English Course by REINELDIS NICOLAS MARQUEZ

When I first started the Spoken English class, I had no idea about the dynamic and how it would be
taught. Later, I was very interested because it was my first time learning English with a person who has the
English Language as his native language. For me, this was a good experience because I learned a lot of
new vocabulary, the correct way of pronouncing. In the Spoken English class, I did my first essay of five
pages in English. I found myself talking a lot about school to my friends and family, and I became very motivated. That motivation inside the classroom also reflected my attitude outside the classroom. I have
talked with many other people. For example, one day I helped a girl who was from another country. She
only spoke English and I was very happy because I understood her well and I could help her, thanks to my
English Practice at the Spoken English class.
My English class has been a good learning experience for me. I had problems in English classes in
the past mainly due to my poor writing. This class has taught me how to write using the correct prepositions and phrasal verbs in English. I have improved my writing significantly but I still have much work and practice to do.
Im very grateful to Prof. Nchumbonga George for teaching us about the English knowledge. You are my motivation for learning
more and more about the English language. Im very excited because I know that one day I will speak fluently. I think your way of
teaching is the best because we have the opportunity to speak. Thanks to your prepared handouts, we have had the opportunity to
learn new vocabularies. My listening and understanding skills has greatly improved because I now listen to other people, music and I
know what they say, and I have understood more. Thank you Prof. George Nchumbonga Lekelefac.

My Experience in the Spoken English Course by Romero Mancebo Carlos Eduardo

In my first semester at the University, Im enjoying every class or every work I do, but, as part of my
formation and education, I have to study another languages, and that is why I really loved English: its
like a yellow flower in the garden. By the way, I want to talk about my experience in the spoken English
course. I truly loved it because when I was stressed or sad, I really get better after the Spoken English
classes. Professor George Nchumbonga does not only teach you to speak English well. In addition, he
is giving you almost formation for life. He is always explaining you the reasons of being good with another people, to enjoy every moment in your life, to smile and laugh every time. Its a very cheap course,
but I have learnt a lot. Professor George Nchumbonga always wants you to learn something new every
day, and thats very nice. Personally, I would like to have another course of Spoken English next year
2017. I think that the Spoken English course is a great idea for everyone whos looking forward to having a great conversation skill, because we learn a lot of words, prepositions, adjectives, and how to
pronounce well. If I were the coordinator of languages, I would make this course permanent because, in my opinion, it is a great
and practical course. One thing that I didnt like was that the course was like another subject, and I know it is, but, maybe this
sounds lazy, but I expected that the course was only about talking to the teacher about different topics, and it was but, I would put
essays or exams as part of a feedback from every student in the course, and this feedback wouldnt be part of a qualification. To
be very honest, I learnt a lot during this three months with professor Nchumbonga George. I really appreciated the course because
I now feel I can try to make a conversation in English with another person without any problem. Thank you Prof. George.

My Experience in the Spoken English Course by Hugo Castillo

I think the Spoken English Course was very cool for me. I understood a lot of things, especially some

doubts about my practical English. Prof. George Nchumbonga is a good guy and an experienced English Professor. He knows how to give the Spoken English class and how explained topics from his personal life and international experience. I really learned much. I enjoyed all the home works (Essays)
because though difficult, it gave me the opportunity to write a five page essay for the first time. I did not
know I had such a capacity until Prof George made it a routine to give his five page essay assignment
every week after each topic. He is a punctual guy and never misses his class. Infact he has a passion for
languages and teaching. Its like a vocation. This made me to hardly miss his class.Prof. George has so
much techniques in explain each topic. I am deeply grateful. I really enjoyed every minute and every
topic.Thank you Prof. George Nchumbonga Lekelefac for making such a wonderful experience possible.

My Experience in the Spoken English Course by MENDEZ CRUZ Y ETTZENI

The English course seemed very motivating, because the teacher is a professional. I also learned many
new words and vocabulary. We started the spoken English course with an introductions which was fun
because at that time I interacted with new friends and got to know their hobbies. I used to learn common
phrases regarding travelling and many new words that in the future will help me to communicate with
people from other countries. It is important to mention that when I practice daily in the Spoken English
class, I was safe when speaking English and had some confidence. It's amazing how a prepared Professor like Prof. George Nchumbonga Lekelefac can teach you, not only academic material but also cultures from other countries thereby opening new horizons and exposing you to the world. I am very
grateful for all the teachings learnt and I will remain grateful to the Language Coordinator Prof. Dr. David
Robles Ortiz for made me have such a good experience by hiring Prof. Nchumbonga George Lekelefac.

My Experience in the Spoken English Course by Prez Franco Joel Alejandro

Ever since I started participating in the Spoken English course, I have improved my speaking and spelling
skills. Im studying the advanced level and thats why I have to continue practicing the English language because it is my principal objective. I am a student of International Business, and as result, knowledge of English is necessary, not only for my life as a student, but also in my professional life. Ill use this language and
others, but focusing on the topic, the usage of this language is important for international relationships, even
if they are political or social aspects. English is the international language, the easiest one, and the commercial one too. During this course, I have been practising my fluency, grammar and vocabulary. These are aspects that I could use in formal or informal situations with native speakers or with people with previous
knowledge of the language. My vocabulary has greatly increased during the topics that we saw which include: Travelling, Education,
Job interviews and work. These aspect are related to my daily and my professional life. Professor George Nchumbonga is an incredible teacher, who correct all the mistakes. It doesnt matter if they are grammatical or oral errors. He is always available to answer any doubts, and interested in our progress and improvement of English. He always finds ways and examples to make sure we
understand what we are talking about. Also we arent knowing just a language, we are also learning about cultures, cultures that
have English as their official language. A good example is the Professor George. He was born in Cameroon, and he is coming from
Canada. Both of them English speakers countries, but with different cultures, Cultures that he transmit to us thereby making the classes dynamic and complete. I can say that sharing my knowledge with other classmates, listening the excellent tips and corrections
that the Professor gives to us, makes me feel that Im really learning, and that Im getting more knowledge that could help me in my
future, not only as a professional, also as a person, that could travel around the world without communication problems. Finally I
want to congratulate Professor George Nchumbonga. He is an incredible teacher, with nice feelings, and with the feeling to continue
learning and teaching, which he has reflected in his students. Thank you Prof. George Nchumbonga Lekelefac.

My Experience in the Spoken English Course by Rodriguez Barron Jose Luis

In my personal experience, the Spoken English Course has made me feel more confident in the way I talk
with someone who does not have Spanish as his/her mother tongue. Honestly, it has been a great pleasure
for me to have registered for this course. It has left me with many good experiences and much knowledge
not only about speaking English but about many other things regarding life and culture. I really liked the way
Professor Nchumbonga George taught and I thank him very much for his desire to teach us and the passion
he has for what he does. Its awesome how professor Nchumbonga George has the capacity to speak many
languages and also speaks each one very well. I am a person who likes speaking other languages and he
is a person to follow. I want to follow his steps so that I could also know many languages as he does. In addition, the Spoken English course made me confirm that I want to and I need to go to work in another country. Professor Nchumbonga George told us how to go about it and advised us not be afraid about go away from home. These are
some of the things that made me to value this course. I hope that Professor George Nchumbonga has also learnt many good
things about us. I want to thank him for all the knowledge which he has shared with us. Thank you Prof. George Nchumbonga.

My Experience in the Spoken Course by Arriaga Hernndez Daniela Michelle

To begin with, before the Spoken English course began, I had in mind that the class would be a little different and boring, but in my opinion the class is very interesting. It was very interesting and it gave me the
opportunity to practice my English and also learn to speak fluently. I think that the way we studied and the
way Professor George Nchumbonga lectured was very practical in every way. For example in the way he
did send E-mail with attached handouts about each topic. Each topic was talked about in the class and this
gave us the opportunity to notice our mistakes and make corrections, thus improving our spoken English
skill. The topics seen in class were very interesting because they were simple, basic and common themes
of our daily life of a students; For example travelling, Education, job interviews and work, prepositions,
phrasal verbs. Due to this, the class flowed very well because every student could express what he/she
thought or say a comment about a specific topic. Personally, I would like to mentioned that I was able to
practice more and this helped me to less nervous. I think that the course helped me a lot to increase my
English vocabulary. Professor George Nchumbonga Lekelefac was good because he helped and corrected me whenever I made
some mistakes or whenever I had any doubts about the vocabulary. I think that my only difficulty about the course was the weekly
homework which was a little extensive. In my previous level of English, I had never written an essay of five pages. For me, this was
a little heavy for me in addition to doing homework of other courses. Thank you. But well, for me it was a good and new experience
to have taken the conversation class, I had never taken a conversation class, and learning new vocabulary. Thank you Prof. George.
