Understanding VLSM
Instead of creating a single subnet mask to
accommodate your total IP Subnet number
(working from the left)
Identify a subnet mask for each subnet individually
(work from the right side)
Move the line as far to the right as you can, while leaving just
enough room for the Hosts on that subnet
Use the bottom row of the Magic Box to complete this task
Use the Magic Box separately for each physical subnet
