2 CALCULATION PROCEDURE
Weight and Balance data for all aircraft are gathered in calculation tables:

Current weight and balance calculation;

New weight and balance calculation.

2.1. Balance Arm to seat forward pin

The distances are obtained from Aircraft LOPA.
Balance stations (reference stations) are recalculated to balance arms according to
manufacturer weight and balance manuals.
2.2. Seats Data
Weight and Centre of Gravity position of each seat model is obtained form Process Sheet.
Data for new seats are obtained form seats manufacturer documentation.
2.3. Total Balance Arm of the Seat
Calculated by following formula:

B.A.TOTAL = B.A.S.F.P .+ B.A.S.C.G. , where

B.A.TOTAL Total distance form Aircraft Reference Datum to respective
passenger seat Centre of Gravity;
B.A.S.F.P. Distance form Aircraft Reference Datum to respective seat forward
fastening pin;
B.A.S.C.G. Distance form respective seat forward fastening pin to seat Centre
of Gravity.

2.4. Moment
Moment of each seat is calculated by following formula:
M = B.A.TOTAL * GSEAT , where
M Moment [kg*in];
B.A.TOTAL Total distance form Aircraft Reference Datum to respective
passenger seat Centre of Gravity [in];
GSEAT Weight of the respective seat [kg].

2.5. Summary Balance Effect

Weight changes according to aircraft Basic Empty Weight (BEW) are calculated by following
formula:

BEW NEW = BEW GTOTAL (before ) + GTOTA ( new) , where

BEW NEW Aircraft Basic Empty Weight after modifications [kg];
BEW Aircraft Basic Empty Weight according to last Weight and
Balance Report (before modifications) [kg];
GTOTAL(before) Total weight of the seats removed from Aircraft [kg];
GTOTAL(new) Total weight of the new seats installed in Aircraft [kg].
Aircraft Basic Empty Index (after balance change) is calculated by following formula:
