All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are
endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in
a spirit of brotherhood.
But it has been noticed that we at an individual, community, societal level
are the fore-runner of the human rights violations, but on the other side
demanding our rights at first. It would not be an exaggeration to say that we
do make efforts to protect our rights at individual level but not as a
community or a nation.
However, until and unless we donot make joint efforts for the protection of
our collective rights, we donot have an access to our individual rights.
Therefore, we should collectively make efforts for the protection of our
rights enshrined in our constitution as well as in international conventions as
human rights.

When we talk about the human rights, we should not ignore or bypass the
rights of our women community, which are being bitterly violated by male
community at present. However, women rights violation is at the alarming
level in our rural areas of the country.
As for as our gender equality is concerned it is also known as gender equity,
gender egalitarianism or sexual equality.
Gender equality means the equality of the gender or the sexes. Gender
equality has been defined by various ways, as the UNICEF defines gender
equality as "levelling the playing field for girls and women by ensuring that
all children have equal opportunity to develop their talents. The UNPF
declared gender equality "first and foremost, a human right".

However, there is dire need to work for the awareness of the human rights
and gender equality especially in the rural areas of the district, due to lack of
education and awareness, the violation of human and gender rights is at
alarming level.

Let us join hands to work for a society, where all individuals should have
equal rights, especially vulnerable community groups especially the women.
