Input

Introduction

During the closure of the Financial process, it might be required to perform financial and volumes data input or
adjustment across the different Budget Input Type and, in order to facilitate this operation, a single entry point is
provided to System Administrator and Finance Controlling where they can perform budget input at any level of
detail. General input adjustments are performed as an exception and / or last minute changes to the Financial
Before Allocation (FBA) and Marginal Contribution (MC) financial data table.
Changes to FAA table (financial after allocation) are reflected running the Market Direct Cost Allocation calculation
(refer to the Market Direct Cost Allocation).
Changes to FAA1 and FAA2 tables (financial after project allocation) are reflected running the Project Cost
Allocation calculation (refer to the Project Cost Allocation Calculation document).
The purpose of the General Input functionality is to add, modify, copy, or delete data directly in the FBA and MC
tables for any Data Version. General Input use case can be considered as an extension of the Budget input use
cases where it is possible to input any kind of financial data (e.g., Overheads, DME, TE, SE or Others) for both
locked and unlocked months; it gives also the possibility to input any kind of financial and volumes data related to
Operating Revenues & Cost of Sales normally generated by the MC calculation (refer to MC Calculation & Run).
For locked data version, before to perform any input the data version need to be unlocked through the Data
Version Definition and Management (refer to Data Version Definition and Management document).
This functionality is used by System Administrator and Finance Controlling.

Pre-Conditions

The initial state of the system before the use case begins is:

Post-Conditions

If the use case has been successfully performed the data is added, modified, or deleted in the Financial Before
Allocation (FBA) and/or Marginal Contribution (MC) data table. Otherwise, the database remains unchanged.

Assumptions

General Input Online should be used with extreme caution since it gives the possibility of modifying data
in the FBA table and financial and volumes data in MC table; therefore bypassing calculations and checks
performed by the solution.

It is assumed that if an adjustment is input via the General Input functionality, in order to keep data
consistency for the Margin calculation between the LBPF system and GMRB:
-

the same adjustment will be input directly in GMRB or

volumes and rates will be re-transmitted to GMRB.

Remark: prior to be transmitted to GMRB, rates should be recalculated based on the amounts and the
volumes stored in the MC.

Volumes modified through the General Input functionality are not reflected in the Unit Volume Input table
where a manual input needs to be done in order to keep consistency with the MC.

This functionality allow writing on all periods, including locked periods (typically referred to Actual month)

Only System Administrator and Finance Controlling has access to this functionality.

The standard and historical exchange rates are defined in separate use cases. They are used to are used
to translate the transactional amounts into reporting and functional amounts. To apply the historical
exchange rates, the Apply Exchange Rates calculation needs to be launched.

Comments added are visible in the reporting view when this is at the same level of detail. Consolidation
reports will not display comments made at detailed row level during data input.

Modifying data with the General Input online is always possible, also when data that are being modified
are already signed.

Signed data wont change their status when modified (refer to the 59 - LBPF - UC - Tracking

If data has been already submitted to GMRB, the corresponding Affiliate by Data Version status equals to
Sent to GMRB. Upon modification made using General Input, status will be set to Signed (refer to the

Records updated or created via General Input functionality are saved with a specific System Type that will
