INOP LIGHT ‘This light illuminates to indicate one of the following conditions: * Computer failure * Invalid CADC input * Invalid Radio Altimeter input * Self test failure Operation of the GPWS on the Basic is the same as the Advanced. However, its location may be different. 2, TEST BUTTON Pressing the test button will cause the following lights to illuminate: * INOP * PULL UP * BELOW G/S In addition, the associated aural warnings will sound. 3. GND PROX. WARN. SWITCH The NORM position allows normal operation of the Ground Proximity Warning System, FLAP INHIBIT will inhibit the Flaps Not In Landing Range at 200 feet warning. OVERHEAD PANEL @Q LE DEVICES ANN. PANEL LE DEVICES LE DEVICES INDICATION LE FLAPS: Consists of the two inboard panels. They will fully extend at flaps 1 an¢ the green extend lights will illuminate. LE SLATS: Consists of the three outboard panels. They will move to the "EXTEND" position at TE flaps position 1-5, and the three middle green lights will illuminate. Aft of position 5 the LE slats move to the "FULL EXTEND" Position, and the aft three green lights will illuminate. TRANSIT: Indicates the respective leading edge device is in transit. When each device is fully retracted, the associated transit light will be off. TEST: This switch tests all the LE DEVICES lights on the annunciator panel. ‘On the Basic, the leading edge slats mave to the extend position when trailing edge flaps are selected to between 1 and 25. When the trailing edge flaps are positioned to 30 or 40, the two outboard slats move to the full extend position. OVERHEAD PANEL ® FLIGHT CONTROL HYDRAULIC PANEL ONL) 1. A FLIGHT CONTROL SWITCHES AON: Opens the associated Fit Cont Hyd Valve that controls system A hydraulic pressure to the ailerons, rudder, elevator and elevator feel. * Arms the associated LOW PRESSURE light. OFF: Closes the associated Fit Cont Hyd Valve, thereby removing system A hydraulic pressure to the ailerons, elevator, rudder and fee! computer. * Arms the associated LOW PRESSURE light. STBY RUD: When selected: * Turns on standby hydraulic pump. OVERHEAD PANEL (CONTINUED) * Arms standby hydraulic pump low pressure light. * Closes system A hydraulic fight control valve, thereby removing system A hydraulic pressure to the ailerons, elevators, rudder and feel computer. + The associated LOW PRESSURE light functions as a valve position light for the standby rudder valve. FLIGHT CONTROL A LOW PRESS light luminates to indicate that there is low hydraulic pressure in the FLT CONTROL A system with the FLT CONTROL A switch in the ON or OFF position. With the A FLT CONTROL switch in the STBY RUD position, the light illuminates to indicate that the standby rudder valve is closed. 10 OVERHEAD PANEL (CONTINUED) The FLT CONT annunciator and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate in conjunction with this light. & FLIGHT CONTROL HYDRAULIC PANEL eR) 3. B FLIGHT CONTROL SWITCHES BON: Opens the associated Fit Cont Hyd Valve that controls system B hydraulic pressuré to the ailerons, rudder, elevator and elevator feel. * Arms the associated LOW PRESSURE light. OFF: Closes the associated Fit Cont Hyd Valve, thereby removing system B hydraulic pressure to the ailerons, elevators, rudder and feel computer. * Arms the associated LOW PRESSURE light. OVERHEAD PANEL (CONTINUED) Placing this switch in the OFF position will trip off the autopilot and yaw damper. STBY RUD: When selected * Turns on standby hydraulic pump. * Arms standby hydraulic pump low pressure light. * Closes system 8 hydraulic flight control valve, thereby removing system B hydraulic pressure to the ailerons, elevators, rudder and feel computer. * The associated LOW PRESSURE light functions as a valve position light for the standby rudder valve. When it is operating, the standby hydraulic system supplies pressure to the thrust reversers. Placing this switch in the OFF position will trip off the autopilot and yaw damper. 12 OVERHEAD PANEL Pi o ef Tle Clie ae | eee: ALTERNATE FLAPS YAW DAMPER Rent) 4, FLIGHT CONTROL B LOW PRESS light Illuminates to indicate that there is low hydraulic pressure in the FLT CONTROL B system with the FLT CONTROL B switch in the ON or OFF position With the B FLT CONTROL switch in the STBY RUD position, the light illuminates to indicate that the standby rudder valve is closed ‘The FLT CONT annunciator and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate in conjunction with this light. 5. SPOILER A AND B SWITCHES SPOILER A: Controls system A hydraulic pressure to both inboard flight spoilers via a hydraulic shutoff valve. 13 OVERHEAD PANEL (CONTINUED) SPOILER B: Controls system B hycraulic pressure to both outboard spoilers via a hydraulic shutoff valve. ON: Opens the respective hydraulic shutoff valve to the flight spoilers. OFF: Closes the respective hydraulic shutoff valve to the flight spoilers. If the respective spoilers are extended, they retract and remain retracted. STANDBY HYDRAULIC LIGHTS LOW QUANTITY: Standby hydraulic quantity is less than 50% full. This light operates irrespective of the status of the standby pump. LOW PRESSURE: Indicates low Standby Hydraulic pressure when the standby pump is powered. ALTERNATE FLAPS MASTER SWITCH OFF: Trailing flaps and leading edge flaps and slats operate normally. ARM: . * Turns on the Standby Hydraulic pump and arms the STANDBY HYD LOW PRESSURE light. ‘Arms the ALTERNATE FLAPS switch. Prevents normal system A operation of the trailing edge flaps and leading edge flaps and slats. Removes tralling edge flaps asymmetry shutoff. 8. ALT FLAI POSITION SWITCH ‘Armed for operation with the ALT FLAPS MASTER SWITCH in the armed position. 15 OVERHEAD PANEL (CONTINUED) UP: Retracts the trailing edge flaps only, using an electric motor attached to the flap drive gearbox. DOWN: * Leading Edge Flaps extend using Standby hydraulics, * Leading Edge Slats move to the FULL EXTEND position using Standby hydraulics. * Trailing Edge Flaps extend using an electric motor. Trailing edge flaps can be placed in any position between full up and full down. 2.5 minutes are required to fully extend or retract the trailing edge flaps. There is no asymmetry protection associated with the ALT FLAPS, FOSITION switch. MACH TRIM TEST SWITCH Press to test the Mach Trim system. Operates only with the flaps up. During the test, the control column moves aft slightly and the Mach Trim Fail light illuminates. Mach Trim Test requires system 3 hydraulic pressure. 12. YAW DAMPER LIGHT Illuminates when the yaw damper switch is in the OFF position. Thi is light does not illuminate when there is a loss of hydraulic pressure to the yaw damper. FLT CONT and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate In conjunction with ‘this light. Requires electrical power to remain in the ON position. ‘The yaw damper switch can be placed in the ON position regardless of the status of system B hydraulics. ‘The yaw damper switch moves to the OFF position when the B FLT CONTROL switch is placed in the OFF or STBY RUD position. This valve is Powered by the Hot Batt Bus and controlled by the fire handle. On certain aircraft, the fuel shutoff valve is also controlled by the start lever. OFF: Fuel valve open. FILTER ICING LIGHT Indicates the engine fuel filter is approaching a bypass condition due to fuel filter contamination or fuel ice. ‘The FUEL and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate in conjunction with this light. 3. FUEL HEAT VALVE OPEN LIGHT Indicates the position of the associated fuel heat valve. 21 OVERHEAD PANEL (CONTINUED) * Light off - Fuel heat valve is closed. * Bright - Fue! heat valve position disagrees with the position of the Fuel Heat switch, * Dim - Fuel heat valve is open. FUEL PANEL ftasg “3 4. FUEL TEMPERATURE GAUGE Reads the fuel temperature from man tank 1. 5. FUEL HEAT SWITCH Controls the position of the associated fuel heat valve. FUEL CROSSFEED VALVE SELECTOR ‘The FUEL CROSSFEED selector opens the Fuel Crossfeed Valve when selected to align with the flow lines. CENTER TANK LOW PRESS LIGHTS EXTINGUISHED: When the associated pump switch is off, or the associated pump switch is on and the pump is supplying normal pressure. MAIN FUEL PUMP LOW PRESS LIGHTS The main tank pump LOW PRESSURE lights are illuminated any time the associated MAIN TANK FUEL PUMP is not supplying adequate pressure, regardless of switch position, 11. MAIN TANKS FUEL PUMP SWITCHES Controls the associated MAIN TANK PUMP. If both FWD and AFT pumps in 2 tank are inoperative, the engine can sucti feed using the engine-driven fuel pump. 2 =— 27 OVERHEAD PANEL. 6 ENGINE REVERSER PANEL 1, THRUST REVERSER OVERRIDE SWITCH ‘These switches are used to override the normal arming functions for the associated reverser (oil pressure and nose strut compression). NORMAL: s ~ Arms the reverser system when all the following exist: * Fire handie down * Engine is running * Nose strut is compressed * Hydraulic pressure ~ Powered by the battery bus. OVERRIDE: Select to bypass the oll pressure (engine running) and nose strut compression requirements. The reverser system is armed when the fire fandle is down and hydraulic pressure is available. 2. ISOLATION VALVE LIGHT IN FLIGHT: Hydraulic pressure is available to either or both thrust reverser selector valves. Thrust reverser(s) may operate. ON THE GROUND: Hydraulic pressure may not be available to either or both thrust reverser selector valve. Thrust reverser(s) may not operate. On the Basic, there is a “Reverser Armed” light in lieu of the "isolation valve" ‘When illuminated, it indicates that at ‘east one reverser is ready for operation. In addition, the Basic has 2 "LOW PRESSURE" light above the panel. It illuminates to indicate that hydraulic pressure is low in one or more reverser systems. BAT: Indicates rate of discharge of the battery on the DC AMPS meter when pointer is minus, and rate of charge when pointer is plus. * DC AMPS meter pulses for approximately 2 minutes while battery is charging. When battery charger is not powered, OC VOLTS meter indicates the battery voltage through the HOT BATT bus. When battery charger Is powered, DC VOLTS indicates charging voltage. BAT: * Battery bus supplies power to the AC and DC standby buses (in flight or on the ground). OFF: De-powers the STANDBY AC & DC buses. AUTO: * No.1 DC bus powers the standby DC bus. * No. 1 transfer bus powers the AC standby bus. In flight, automatically switches to the battery bus for the AC and DC standby buses with a loss of either No. 1 DC bus or No. 1 transfer bus. ‘There is no automatic switching on the ground. A loss of either the No. 1 DC bus or the No. 1 transfer bus will result in a loss of both the AC and DC. standby buses. Generator field opens. Disconnects the generator drive regardless of engine operation. Generator drive can only be re-connected on the ground. 6. GEN DRIVE TEMPERATURE RISE Selects the temperature displayed on the GEN DRIVE OIL TEMP indicators. 7. GEN DRIVE OIL TEMP INDICATORS RISE: Indicates temperature difference between oil input and, oil output. This indicates the rate of rise in temperature through the drive, and thus a possible drive problem. Read the rise temperature on the outer scale. IN: Displays oil input temperature. This can indicate a generator drive ‘cooling problem. Read the IN temperature on the inner scale. On the Basic, the unit displays Rise and OUT temperature. 36 OVERHEAD PANEL e ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL 1, GROUND POWER AVAILABLE LIGHT Indicates external power is available, and remains on when external power is powering the airplane. The EXTERNAL AC BUS is powered. Does not indicate proper voltage or frequency of external power. 2. GROUND POWER SWITCH ‘OFF: Opens the ground power relay. ON: * Opens all generator control breakers. * Closes the ground power relay and both bus tie breakers. 3. AC AMPS METER Indicates associated engine generator load. Closes the disconnect relay. OFF: The transfer bus can only be powered by the associated generator. * Prevents transfer of hydraulic B pumps, standby pump, and battery charger to the alternate power source. Opens the disconnect relay. Therefore, the No. 3 TR cannot supply the No. 1 DC bus. ‘On the Basic, there is no auto-load shedding. The transfer relay works the ‘same as in the advanced. In the event of the loss of a generator bus, the respective B hydraulic pump transfers to the opposite generator. 5. TRANSFER BUS OFF LIGHTS ‘The associated TRANSFER BUS Is not powered. * ELEC and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate in conjunction with {this light. BUS OFF LIGHTS The associated GENERATOR BUS is not powered. * ELEC and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate in conjunction with this light. 7. GEN OFF BUS LIGHTS The associated GENERATOR BREAKER is open. * The generator is not connected to the associated generator bus. 8. APU GEN OFF BUS LIGHT ILLUMINATED: The APU generator is on operating speed or was at operating speed and the APU has experienced an auto shutdown. EXTINGUISHED: * Either APU generator breaker is closed. * The APU control switch is OFF. APU GENERATOR CONTROL SWITCHES Closes the associated APU generator field after the APU generator cortrol unit has found power to be acceptable. Disconnects previously applied power applies AU power to the associated GEN BUS. Disconnects APU power from the associated generator bus. ‘The APU generator field will open if the opposite generator bus is disconnected from the APU generator. 10. GENERATOR CONTROL SWITCHES Closes the associated field (if open) and breaker after the generator control unit has found power acceptable. Applies power to the associated GEN BUS and disconnects all other power sources. Opens associated generator field, which causes the generator breaker to ‘open and remove power from the associated GEN BUS. APU LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT Illuminates during normal start until oil press sre builds up. With the APU on speed, low oil pressure will cause the light to illuminate and the APU to automatically shutdown. * Light is armed when the APU start switch is in the START or ON position. * APU and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate in conjunction with this light. 3. APU HIGH OIL TEMP LIGHT Illuminates when the APU oil temperature is excessive. If the APU is at ‘operating speed, the APU will automatically shut down. * Light is armed when the APU start switch is in the START or ON position. * APU and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate in conjunction with this light. 4. APU OVERSPEED LIGHT Tne APU OVERSPEED light illuminates for the following reasons: * Overspeed sensor has caused an auto shutdown. * Qverspeed sensing malfunction during normal shutdown. * APU start Is terminated prior to the APU being on speed. APU EGT GAUGE Indicates APU exhaust gas temperature, and does not require electrical power. 6. Two tones will be heard in headset if plugged in to jack during test. Pointer will deflect twice into the white band during test. Do not hold the test button in to perform the test as it will result in erroneous indications. 4. CVR ERASE BUTTON Will erase all channels if on the ground, parking brake is set and AC power is available. Hold the button for 7 seconds to erase the tape. 5. Wheel can be manually moved to effect pitch trim. A handle (normally stowed) can be deployed to assist in moving wheel. Physically moving the pitch trim whee! during autopilot operations does not disengage the autopilot ELEV switcn. 2. STAB TRIM INDICATORS Displays the position of the stabilizer. The green band area indicates the acceptable range of stabilizer position for takeoff. if the trim is not within the green band when either throttle is advanced above idle during takeoff, the takeoff warning horn will sound. 131 CENTER PEDESTAL @e CENTER PEDESTAL CONTROLS 3. SPEED BRAKE LEVER Controls the position of the flight and ground spoilers. DOWN: All spoilers are retracted, ARMED: Placing the speed brake lever to this position arms the flight and ground spoilers for automatic extension during landing. FLIGHT DETENT: This is the maximum aft position of the lever while in flight. UP: Maximum extended position of the flight and ground spoilers. 4. REVERSE THRUST LEVERS With the respective throttle at idle, will deploy the hydraulic thrust reverser by ‘opening the isolation valve and allowing the selector valve to port pressure to the extend side of the reverse thrust actuators. The following conditions must be met prior to reverse thrust interlock: * Battery bus power (#1 or #2 DC bus on Basic) * System A Hydraulic pressure. * Nose strut in the ground mode * hesociated fire handle stowed * Engine running (le, oll pressure is required) CENTER PEDESTAL e CENTER PEDESTAL CONTROLS 5. THRUST LEVERS Controls the thrust. The throttles are locked in the idle position during reverse thrust. 6. START LEVERS IDLE: * Opens the engine fuel valve * Energizes the ignition system. CUTOFF: = Closes the engine fuel valve * De-energizes the ignition system. On certain aircraft, moving the star: lever to cutoff will close the fuel shutoff valve in the fuel tank and illuminate the FUEL VALVE CLOSED light. On the Basic, the start levers have a IDLE position. FLAP HANDLE Controls the position of the leading edge flaps and slats and the trailing edge flaps. Leading edge flaps and slats move to the extend position when the flap handle is at the 1, 2, and 5 position. ‘The leading edge slats move to the full extend position when the flap handle is placed in positions 10, 15, 25, 30, and 40. 8, STAB TRIM LIGHT Illuminates to indicate that the main electric stabilizer motor is powered. 9, STAB TRIM SWITCHES MAIN ELECTRIC: (Left switch) * NORMAL: The main electric trim motor can move the horizontal stabilizer * CUTOUT: Prevents operation of the main electric trim motor. ‘STAB TRIM AUTOPILOT: (Right switch) 134 CENTER PEDESTAL (CONTINUED) * NORMAL: The autopilot stabilizer trim motor can move the horizontal stabilizer * CUTOUT: Prevents operation of the autopilot stabilizer trim motor. PARKING BRAKE HANDLE When pulled: * Holds brake pedals in the applied position. * Turns off the antiskid system. Illuminates the Parking Brake light when the parking brake is set. An illuminated parking brake light DOES NOT mean that the brakes are set. 11, LDG GEAR HORN CUTOUT The landing gear horn sounds when the landing gear is not down and locked and one of the following applies: * Flaps 1 to 10: Anytime one or both throttles are retarted to idle. Pressing the horn cutout button silences the horn. ‘* Flaps 15 or 25: Either but not both throttles are retarted to idle. Pressing the horn cutout button silences the horn. BELL CUTOUT The BELL CUTOUT switch is used to: Silence the fire warning bell and horn Rearm the fire warning system Extinguish the FIRE WARN lights Change the APU fire warning light on the wheel well APU FIRE CONTROL panel from flashing to steady. 9. WHEEL WELL LIGHT Illuminates to indicate that there is a fire or overheat in the main wheel well. 10.
