Grasslands

Located along multiple places such as Ukraine and Russia,

Argentina and Uruguay, and scattered among South America and South
Africa.
The climate changes drastically. They have very hot summers and very cold
winters. Has a rainfall average from 20 to 35 inches a year.
Grasses dominate grasslands, there are multiple species found in the
grassland, its rare to find tree and shrub.

Deserts

Desert can usually occur in low latitudes, and can be found in

North America, South America, Africa, And Southern Asia
The climate is harsh, with hot and dry temperatures.
The most obvious plant in the desert are different species of cacti.
Most animals in the desert have evolved to solve heat
and water problems. Some examples would be the
coyote, camels, and cougar.

Shrublands

The region is usually located around the areas of the

Mediterranean Sea, and southwest parts of Africa and Australia
Shrublands dont get much rain, and have drought-like climate
Since the climate is so dry, shrublands dont have tall trees. Grasses and
short plants grow in this biome.
Some animals are Moose, Finch, and the Eastern Box Turtle.

Tundra

Located all over the world, more specifically Alaska,

Northern Canada, edges of Greenland. It covers 20% of earths surface.
One of the coldest, harshest biomes. Located on tops of mountains with no
trees and stay cold all year until spring.
Little to no trees grow here. Some examples are blueberries, arctic moss, and
some others.
Most animals in the tundra do not live here except
for the summer when it is warmer. Some examples
of these animals are caribou, polar bears, arctic fox,
and bald eagles.

Deciduous Forest

Located primarily in the eastern half of the United States, Canada,

parts
of Russia, Europe, China, and Japan.
The average temperature is above 50, and the average rainfall is anywhere
from 30 to 60 inches a year.
There are multiple types of plant species.
There are many types of moss, and tree types.
Animals include some of the following:
hawks, cardinals, snowy owls, raccoons,
and red foxes.

Coniferous Forest

Found in northern 50 to 60 latitudes. Found in lower latitudes of

North America, Europe, and Asia.
Have cool winters and warm summers, and have 300 to 900mm of rain
annually.
Plants include mosses, ferns, and forbs. There is as many as 25,000 species
of mosses
Some animals include moose, deer, mice, bears,
foxes and squirrels

Tropical Rainforest

Located in Western Africa, South America and Southeast Asia.

Are usually very hot and wet year round with an exception of cooler nights.
The rainforest has never dropped below 64 and it rains about 160 to 400
inches every year.
There are over 40000 plant species, an example of some would be Brazil Nut
Tree, Rubber Tree, and Orchids
Populated with insects, different animals live in different section of the
rainforest.
