Instructions

1. Students take one of the folded Harry Potter Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt programs.
2. There are instructions on how to download the app in the program:
a. Download the Aurasma app on an Android or Apple phone or tablet.
b. Create a free account and then go into the main menu (
). Then, click on the
magnifying glass and search for WSUDunbarLibrary. Follow the page. Its the first option,
seen here:

c. Once theyre following the WSUDunbarLibrary account, click the

3. They will then follow the clues along the first and second floors of the Library, recording the
answers in the program, starting with the house crest display next to the Circulation Desk near
the programs.
4. If there are any questions, send them to the Information Desk if youre not comfortable
directing them with the answer.
5. Once they finish recording the clues, they will drop by the Circulation Desk (or see Holly during
Game Night) to receive a final answer sheet.
6. Once theyve finished the final answer sheet, they submit it to be entered to win one of three
prizes. Prizes are awarded during Game Night.
7. If any instructors would like attendance recorded for participation, they should send Holly a list
of their students (holly.jackson@wright.edu) and she will contact them to let them know who
participated in the activity.

Q:

What if I dont know anything about Harry Potter?

A:

Youre welcome to Google any Harry Potter related questions that you dont know, or to pair up
with someone who is familiar with the books.

Q:

What if I dont have an Apple or Android phone?

A:

You are welcome to partner up with a friend or classmate to participate!

What one is the WSU Dunbar Library account in my search results?

A:

How do I get back to the

A:

If you have an Apple phone, hit the Back button at the top of the screen, then hit Cancel on
the search and it will take you to the home page where the button is.

Q:

What if the wrong person comes up when I hold the phone/tablet over a poster?

A:

Simply move your phone away from the poster and then try it again. In most cases that weve
tested, the right person will come up the second time if they didnt the first.

Q:

What if I end up out of order?

A:

Thats okay! Simply go back to the clue where you ended up out of order to head back on the
right track, or follow the clues back around to figure out what youve missed.
