Promotes, protects and maintains the nutritional wellbeing of learners and personnel through the provision of various nutrition services, interventions and education
with the end in view of improving educational outcomes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Nutritionist-Dietitian I
1. Renders nutrition counseling.
2. Assists in the development and standardization of recipes using nutritious indigenous foods for suplementary feeding.
3. Assists in nutrition programs/trainings/seminars/workshops.
4. Utilizes school nutrition services for the development of health & nutrition values of pupils/students.
5. Integrates nutrition concepts in school & community activities
6. Assists in the development and utilization of advocacy materials with inter-agency groups, GOs and NGOs.
7. Assists in the development and distribution of IEC materials on nutrition.
8. Collates, consolidates, interprets and submits nutrition program status reports and accomplishments.
9. Assists in the monitoring, evaluation and research on the effectiveness of nutrition projects/programs.
Nutritionist-Dietitian II
1. Plans and initiates the implementation of nutrition projects/programs.
2. Plans and conducts trainings/orientations of regional/division/school Education Supervisors on Nutrition and Food Production.
3. Prepares project proposals, budget estimates and training designs of nutrition intervention/projects/programs.
4. Develops and standardizes recipes using nutritious indigenous foods for supplementary feeding.
5. Collects, consolidates, interprets, analyzes and disseminates nutrition data for intervention.
6. Establishes linkages and coordinates with other agencies for nutrition programs implementation.
7. Prepares menu for RELC and other DepEd activities like athletic meets, seminars, trainings, meetings, etc.
8. Develops and utilizes advocacy materials with interagency groups, GOs and NGOs for the promotion of nutrition and resource mobilization purposes
9. Prepares memoranda and DepEd Orders related to school nutrition program.
10.Conducts monitoring, evaluation and research on the effectiveness of the nutrition projects/programs.
11.Renders nutritional consultation services.
12.Serves as resource person on nutrition, dietetics and other related topics.
13.Reviews and analyzes reports on nutrition projects/programs.
14.Participates in nutrition evaluation activities of DOH, MELLPI and National Nutrition Council.
15.Conducts studies on the preparation and preservation of nutritional value of foods.
16.Recommends changes to improve dietary standards.
17.Recommends food items sold in the school canteens.
