concern is borne out of the obvious confusion that is
seen among these denominations particularly in the
area of the different doctrines each of them
practices. A close look at the bible however, reveals
that this confusion does not emanate from God. The

bible says God is not the author of confusion

1Cor14:33. The bible further reveals that God does not
permit division. Paul says this to the Corinthians

Against this background, it is very essential for us to

study the bible very well (II Tim2:15) to be able to
ascertain, the purpose for which God established the
church, the nature of the church and its connection
to the salvation of man. God sent Jesus Christ into
the world to save man from perdition that became
his lot after Adam sinned in the garden of Eden, Paul
told the Romans that for as by one mans disobedience
many were made sinners, so by obedience of one shall
many be made righteous Rom5:19. The plan of salvation

involves the preaching of the gospel of Christ that

has the power of God to save Rom1:16-17. This gospel

Joel in Joel2:28-32; after the gospel was preached by

thousand souls were baptized and added to the

Apostles after they had heard, believed the gospel
and repented of their sin, God continued to add to
the church those who were being saved from this day
onward Acts2:1-47.

The church in the New Testament is not a

denomination, it is the one Christ founded. Christ is
the head of the Head of the church, which is His body
Eph1:22-23; Col1:18. The body of Christ is one and
the church is one Eph4:4. The name given to the
church in the
