Ive been a fan of Zelda games
for as long as I can remember. I remember waking up and loving to just
stare at the rain inside the first level of
Link to the Past. Thinking to my self,
Wow, look at these graphics!. Well
just look at what we have here now.
Many hardcore fans are super excited
to get their hands on this one. The Legend of Zelda Breathe of the Wild will
release in 2017 for the Wii U. It will also
be a launch title for Nintendos new
console, codenamed: NX. The game
looks absolutely stunning. Were sure
here at Gamers magazine, that this one
will be one for the ages.

DAY IN HISTORY 1.

THIS IS SUPER!

16-BIT
WAR!
The rivalry between Nintendo and Sega
resulted in what has been described as
one of the most notable console wars in
video game history, in which Sega positioned the Genesis as the cool console,
with more mature titles aimed at older
gamers, and edgy advertisements that
occasionally attacked the competition.

The SNES is Nintendos second home console,

following the (NES). The console introduced
advanced graphics and sound capabilities compared with other consoles at the time. The
development of a variety of enhancement
chips integrated in game cartridges
helped to keep it competitive in the
marketplace.
The SNES was a global success,
becoming the best-selling
console of the 16-bit era despite its relatively late start and
the fierce competition it faced
in North America and Europe
from Segas Mega Drive/Genesis console. The SNES remained
popular well into the 32-bit era, and
continues to be popular among fans,
collectors, retro gamers, and emulation enthusiasts, some of whom still make
home-brew ROM images.

d6

Nintendo has sold 49.10 million units worldwide.

Nintendo however, scored an early public relations

advantage by securing the first console conversion of Capcoms
arcade classic Street Fighter II for SNES, which took over a year to
make the transition to Genesis. Despite the Genesiss head start,
much larger library of games, and lower price point, the Genesis
only represented an estimated 60% of the American 16-bit console market in June 1992, and neither console could maintain a
definitive lead for several years.
Donkey Kong Country is said to have helped establish the SNESs
market prominence in the latter years of the 16-bit generation,
and for a time, maintain against the PlayStation and Saturn. According to Nintendo, the company had sold more than 20 million
SNES units in the U.S. According to a 2014 Wedbush Securities
report based on NPD sales data, the SNES ultimately outsold the
Genesis in the U.S. market.

Prepare to
The passion that I have for the video game industry is beyond describable. Ever since I laid my hands on a super Nintendo controller
handed down to me by my brother, it changed my life forever. I
remember being just 4 or 5 years old, staring at the TV in awe as I
stare at the 16 bit goodness of one F-Zero game. Then watching a
commercial about the Nintendo 64, and running to my mom and
screaming out loud MOM! Can I please have an N64 for Christmas!! I love you!! Thank you! And hoping I would get it. I eventually got my hands on an N64 controller and couldnt believe my eyes.
At the time, the graphics seemed amazing. Fast forward nearly 15
years later, and Im here today paying games like Halo 5, Mario Kart
8, The Evil Within and much more.

Things have changed a whole lot since my early years, but
one things for sure. I continue to play them with a more open mind
to various genres. I play many games now of days just to see what
the hype is all about or if the developer really has what it takes to
make a triple A game. With that being said, I am making this first
issue of Gamer magazine this month to show the world how passionate I am for video games. Its a way to get away from reality
and have some fun. I wanted to create this magazine specifically for
Gamers and not necessarily for the casual gamer. I will also include a section every issue that goes back to the past and will have
cool info about the history of that subject. The magazine will go in
depth about games that recently just released and also advertise
future releases as well. Enjoy.

Gamers dont die,

they re-spawn.

he game is very similar to its

predecessor in terms of gameplay, it is mostly set in a series of
3D battle arenas mostly modeled after notable locations in
the Dragon Ball universe, with
the central hub being an expanded version of Toki-Toki City,
called Conton City. As reported by the creators
of the Game, Conton City will be 7-times larger
than Toki-Toki City.
Players are able to freely traverse this new hub
world, and in some areas are even capable of
flying around, however this feature will not be
available from start, instead being unlocked.
Players will also be able to travel to other hubs
such as the Namekian Village and Friezas ship.
Some skills will have to be learned through
masters, like the previous game. However, some
masters will be found exclusively in these extra
hubs.

d14

Xenoverse 2 will be the fourth Dragon Ball video

game to feature character customization. Players
are able to choose from the five races of the first
game: Humans, Saiyans, Majins, Namekians and
Friezas race. The game also features race-specific quests, minigames and transformations (the
latter of which was only available to Saiyans in
the first game, via the Super Saiyan forms).
Players also have a much greater role in the
story, as some decisions will have to be made by
them. Multiplayer servers are now able to hold
up to 300 players at once. The game also has a
training mode called Training School, and when
customising a character, there is the option to
choose different kinds of ki blasts (Power, Burst,
Freeze, Rush, Paralyze and Bomb).

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has shipped

1.4 million copies worldwideas of Nov. 2016.

Two years after the events of the first Xenoverse, the protagonist receives a special
mission from Elder Kai, which involves correcting history after it has changed. On the
way there, they meet the Supreme Kai of
Time, a deity who watches over time, and her
bird, TokiToki. After meeting Elder Kai, they
are granted their first mission, which is to correct Gokus battle with Raditz after hes been
enhanced by dark magic. Meanwhile,
Towa and Mira, the people whove caused
history to change, have gathered allies, Turles,
Lord Slug and a mysterious Masked Saiyan,
from different parts of the timeline. During
the Attack of the Saiyans Saga, Turles attempts to intercept Goku to prevent him from
assisting the Z Fighters against Nappa and
Vegeta, only to be stopped
by the combined forces
of the Time Patroller and
Goku. During the battle,
Trunks and his partner,
the protagonist from the
first game, try to capture
Turles, but he escapes
before the Time Patroler can stop him. The
protagonist then returns to the Time Nest
after defeating Great Ape Nappa and Great
Ape Vegeta, correcting history. There, they
are introduced to Trunks and his partner, and
it is announced that TokiToki is laying an egg,
which gives birth to another universe. The
Collectors Edition of the game includes the
game disc, a soundtrack CD, a collectors box,
an exclusive steelbook case, a Time Patrollers
Guide artbook (which includes an exclusive
manga based on the game) and a statue of
Super Saiyan Goku. It is available for Xbox One
and PlayStation 4.

GAME OF THE YEAR?

People are already saying this game is going to be game of the year for 2017.In The
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there
is also an old man who introduces Link to the
Great Plateau as the birthplace of the entire kingdom of Hyrule.
The old man then proceeds to direct Link to the Temple of Time. The
old man is crucial as he later turns up with a quest that will lead Link
out of the starting point. Incidentally, there are reports going around
saying that the starred walls of the Temple of Resurrection might possibly serve as the games shrine map. It also points out finished and
unfinished quests.

he Legend of Zelda: Breath

of the Wild is an upcoming
action-adventure video game
under development by Nintendo
for the Wii U and the companys upcoming platform, codenamed NX.
It is the nineteenth main installment
in the The Legend of Zelda series
and the first original Zelda game
developed with a high-definition
resolution. The story is set in Hyrule,
and follows amnesiac protagonist
Link, who awakens from a 100-year
slumber to a mysterious voice that
guides him on a quest to defeat
Calamity Ganon.

d18

The title will feature an open world

environment and other gameplay
elements that constitute a departure
from the series conventions, including an advanced physics engine, as
well as the ability to play through
the games dungeons in any order.
Announced in 2013, the game was
initially planned for release as a
Wii U exclusive in 2015. After being delayed twice, it is currently set
for release in 2017. Many fans are
speculating whether or not this will
be better then Twilight Princess. The
main game prior to this one.

Links New Adventure

There are also speculations that the
Koroks may also be included in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild because
during the demo, a lone Korok was seen
telling Link that the others are kind of hiding
before presenting the games main protagonist with a gift of a Korok Seed. What
seems clear is that the Koroks will likely be
dispersed throughout the games open
world and that gamers must locate them
all much like the Golden Skulltula in The
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The Legend of Zelda series follows
a fictional chronology. On December 21,
2011, a timeline was released within the
collectors book called Hyrule Historia.
The Legend of Zelda, the original and first
of its kind, has a sequel titled Zelda II: The
Adventure of the Link whose time placement was several years later.

Thereafter, it was followed by A Link to the Past, Links Awakening, Ocarina

of Time, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, The Wind Waker, Phantom
Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Four Swords, The Minish Cap, and A Link Between Worlds. Each title of The Legend of Zelda game took place in different
timeline branches.

he PlayStation 4 (abbreviated as PS4)

is a home video game console developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, formerly Sony Computer Entertainment. Announced as the successor to the
PlayStation 3 during a press conference
on February 20, 2013, it was launched on
November 15, 2013, in North America, and
November 29, 2013, in Europe, South America and Australia, and February 22, 2014
in Japan. It competes with Nintendos Wii
U and Microsofts Xbox One, as part of the
eighth generation of video game consoles.
Moving away from the more complex Cell
microarchitecture of its predecessor, the
console features an AMD Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) built upon the x86-64
architecture, which has a theoretical peak
performance of 1.84 teraflops; AMD stated
that it was the most powerful APU they
had developed to date.
The PlayStation 4 places an increased emphasis on social interaction and integration
with other devices and services, including
the ability to play games off-console on
PlayStation Vita and supported Sony Xperia
mobile devices (Remote Play), the ability
to stream gameplay online, or to friends
with them controlling gameplay. remotely

Reception to the PlayStation 4 prior to its launch
was positive, with critics praising Sony for acknowledging its consumers needs, embrace of
independent game development, and for not
imposing the same digital rights management
schemes that Critics and third-party studios
also praised the capabilities of the PlayStation
4 in comparison to its competitors; developers
described the performance difference between
the console and Xbox One as being significant and obvious.Heightened demand for the
PS4 helped Sony top global console sales. As
of June 30, 2016, more than 43 million consoles
have been shipped worldwide.
On September 7, 2016, Sony unveiled two hardware revisions of PlayStation 4; a slim version of
the original hardware, and a Pro version with
an upgraded GPU and higher CPU clock rate to
support 4K gameplay on supported titles but
not for media such as Netflix, or blue rays. All
models, including the original sold in 2013, support HDR10 high-dynamic-range color.

The Evolution of Gaming

How far can they go, graphically?

hese two screen shots are just examples of the visual

evolution of Video games. Today, not just in the wrestling genre, but all over the industry exist games that
will make your jaw drop. Games such as Uncharted 4 (PS4),
GTA 5 (Xbox One & PS4), Final Fantasy XV (Xbox One &
PS4), Forza Horizon 3 (Xbox One) are to name a few. We as
gamers have come a long way from the arcades with 8-Bit
graphics like Pong or Pacman, to shooting ducks with your
zapper to what you see on this page (Brock Lesnar WWE
Superstar). From the console wars with the SNES and the
Sega Genesis and their 16-Bit fights, to the 64 Bit era where
we laid our eyes upon Super Mario 64 or Resident Evil. To
the 6th Generation, where we were blown away by the CGI
of Final Fantasy 10 (PS2) or the cutscenes in Halo 2 (Xbox).
Then came the 7th generation, which many believe was
the breakthrough to what we see more standard in todays
gaming. Besides the online aspect taking a huge jump,
as well as DLC becoming more of a standard, visually we
introduced to games like The Last of US (PS3), Alan Wake
(360), Gears of War 3 (360) and more.

WWF Wrestlemania (1989)

Finally, to what we are living in today. The 8th and what

many people are debating as to whether its the last generation we will see in gaming. Why is that you might ask?
Well, just take a look at the games that we play today. NBA
2k17 sometimes confuses other people for real life games.
Every couple years, we are getting upgraded consoles.
Where besides slim models, that never existed nor was
it necessary. Many people are leaning more toward PC
gaming because they dont want to continuously purchase
the same hardware just slightly updated (The PS4 Pro, and
soon to come Project Scorpio for example). We now have
virtual reality (No, the VirtualBoy does not count. Nice try
Nintendo) which is fairly new and groundbreaking, but is
it just a fad like the Wii was? Will it just come and go? Or
will this become the norm, where everyone will play Virtual
Reality games and nothing else. How far can we go? Who
knows, but Im excited for what is yet to come.
