Cosmodynes - Background
Powerful planets represent deep-seated urges that strain continuously for expression. Any
prominent planet indicates an aptitude of the nature signified by that planet that may be
converted into abilities. The strongest planets in a chart indicate aptitudes that can be cultivated
most easily into abilities. The best (most harmonious) planets show the things with which the
individual can associate to bring good fortune.
The strongest (and most harmonious) houses emphasize environments or areas of life where
the person will find it easier to practice his vocation, the extent that department of life will be
active in his life, and the harmony or discord that may be expected in that department of life
(amount of resistance from the environment).
The signs give a picture of the natural, instinctive motivation (likes and dislikes, attitudes and
reactions) and enable one to judge whether or not the vocation will bring personal satisfaction.

THE PLANETS - OVERVIEW

THE SUN
Ambition, enterprise, confidence, and optimism mark the person. He does things with dramatic
flair. His potential can be found in winning others as followers and in supervising and training
them. He likes to exercise authority and is happiest when before the public, being noticed,
awarded, and acclaimed.
He tends to be attracted to official positions, such as those in government or politics, or as
deputy appointed by important persons. More often than not he becomes a leader, or the head
of something, even if the leadership is over a few people. On the job he may not be the head
boss. lf not, then he may be predisposed to climb the ranks to foreman, supervisor, or head of
some department. Administration and executive work appeal to him.
The Sun rules politics, individuals in authority or superiors, people who employ others, gold, and
the male sex in general.
The Sun is one of the vocational indicators needed in charts for the following vocations:
entertainer, politician, playground director, radiation tester, radio or television performer,
biochemist, financier, foreman, administrative executive, receptionist.
THE MOON
Sympathy, tenacity, compassion, and sensitivity mark this person. He has a sense of rhythm,
timing, and tune. He needs to be needed. He has an interest in nutrition, foods, beverages, or
diet and likes to cater to and serve the public. This person feels comfortable in the mainstream,
mixing and mingling with the common people - especially in feminine situations. He easily
impresses others with his emotional delivery. At the same time he adapts quickly to surroundings
and is easily impressed by others.
He feels comfortable in crowds or groups, rubbing shoulders with the masses. At the same time
small intimate gatherings allow him to satisfy his interest and curiosity as to what's happening to
whom and when. Isolated places and purely mental activity rub him the wrong way.
The Moon rules silver, commodities, hotels, restaurants, the female sex in general, liquids,
groceries, those who cater to and serve the public, domesticity, and music.
The Moon is one of the vocational indicators found in the charts of nurses, airline attendants,
dietitians, dry cleaners, housekeepers, cooks, bakers, landscapers, merchants, cashiers,

and handling figures.

not follow music or art as a profession, he usually has a deep appreciation for both. This is also

possibility. He has a knack for highlighting the good points and subduing those which distract.
But with his courteous, impersonal manner, he will be the first to tell you he is not interested in
working out the details of the completed entity his creativity has laid out before you. He has little
initiative or critical analysis and leaves it for others to work out the fine points. He dislikes hard
work, system, and discipline. Impressionable and dreamy, he is often given to fantasy thinking.
One can appeal to his magnetic, psychic nature for ideas for promotional schemes - especially
those that lead to less energy expenditure for the rewards of wealth and the luxuries of life.
Sometimes, if this instinct is not curbed, he could give the scheming confidence man a run for his
money.

who handle groups - either in human engineering for some worthy cause or in manipulating

electromagnetic energies. That aptitude allows ease in detecting trouble instinctively and making
the necessary repairs.
His projects are conducted on a large scale, such as on the assembly line or by means of mass

THE SIGNS
ARIES
A quick response to impulse underlies the Aries motivation. A striving for personal leadership
often results in too many irons in the fire. Enjoyment comes from being in the middle of the
action, doing rather than viewing. An ardent realist, he feels that the apparent complexities in life
can be reduced to the simplest elements.
Aries dislikes restriction, laziness, sedentary work, taking a back seat, facing too many details,
finishing chores, people who cannot maintain the pace, tradition, public opinion, and "high
society".
Aries likes to talk about self, to engage in a good argument, to fight obstacles and challenges,
and to be the object of praise and flattery. He enjoys competition and is interested in travel,
freedom, and politics. Bright and lively, he is a good mixer, and his enthusiasm peps up those
around him. He has the knack of whipping up interest in worthy causes for unbiased freedom.
TAURUS
Taurus motivation has its roots in actions anchored to a purpose. A stability of feeling backs up a
calm, controlled release of personal powers into purposeful determination. In behavior patterns,
poise and common sense replace sophistication and artificiality. Early conditioning sets lifelong
patterns that naturally resist modification.
Discomfort comes when a situation calls for taking the initiative or facing risks, for changing
methods and habits, for operating under pressure or compulsion, or for working in places where
one is hurried and pushed.
Taurus likes to make the beautiful useful, to be thorough, to take orders, and to finish chores. He
appreciates discipline, emotional security, routine and practical functions, and the opportunity to
fulfill the essential needs of others.
GEMINI
The compulsive force strongly coloring the Gemini motivation is directed toward knowledge
rather than toward the emotional experience. But this does not negate a highly sensitive nature
that is activated when things go wrong and lead to hypertension and nervousness. The need for
constant expression and adaptability requires a changing environment in which more than one
job at a time occupies the attention.
Gemini feels frustrated sitting alone in quietude or faced with chores and daily duties. Steady
monotonous application or protracted concentration invites fits of restlessness.
Projects requiring wit and skill, travel, communication, excitement, or social activities whet his
curiosity. He is versatile in the use of hands, tongue, and brain; his inherent expression is
stimulated almost anywhere he finds himself, as long as he has a variety of companions.
CANCER
Cancer motivation is the quest for foundation, the urge to become attached to something.
Promptings come more from the fullness of emotions and senses than from the faculties of mind.
An impressionable nature and encyclopedic memory encourage an instinctive understanding of
what the public needs and will use.
Ridicule and rude reality, rebuff, and criticism render Cancer almost inactive. He dislikes tense,
forceful situations as well as static, cold environments. He becomes upset when he hears
negative news and when he feels he has been slighted; he is extremely sensitive.
Stimulation comes from watching, observing, and relating to the foibles of others and from
talking about and with them. His shoulder is always there to lean on. He likes to be needed, to
play a helpful role in close association with people who need his imaginative and sympathetic

responses. He builds his self-confidence and gains comfort by following established forms and
customs.
LEO
Leo motivation manifests primarily from deep-seated desires to live in and through others as he
occupies center stage and radiates his self-confidence. A man of action, relying entirely upon his
instinctive judgment in making decisions, he leaves others inspired. His kindness invokes respect,
and often love, from others. A strong will and personal pride sustain him. He tends to explain life
and its situations in dramatically heroic terms.
Leo dislikes to take orders, to compromise, to be corrected or criticized, to be confined to a
subordinate position, and most importantly, to be ignored. He rejects self-analysis and disloyalty,
and refuses to accept the opinions of others.
Opportunities to show his magnanimous spirit and to use diplomacy in managing people please
him. He likes leading, taking action to get attention, and entertaining before a group. He
functions, best in positions of authority.
VIRGO
Mental concepts are the prime Virgo motivators. Thus endowed he is capable of facing and
coping with reality by adapting and adjusting to circumstances and situations. His nascent drive
is to bring order out of chaos and disorder, by separating and segregating things in order to
learn what causes imperfections. He finds contentment engaged in jobs where small details
need attention and he does not mind working in obscurity.
He dislikes waste, extravagance, immodesty, the limelight, theories, assumptions, loose ends,
sloppiness, a cluttered working area, and being pressured or hurried.
Subdued effects, collection and preservation of little things, punctuality, tidiness, and common
sense approaches all appeal to him. He likes work requiring classification, tabulation, collation of
data, concentration, and research. He enjoys taking a complex job and making it simpler and
more effective/efficient.
LIBRA
A blend of mental and emotional motivation provides an even tempered approach to life, allowing
Libra to see both sides of a question. His objective judgment is fed by an outstanding power for
making comparisons. In addition to his inherent poise and charm, his desire to please and make
others feel at ease assures him of a personal following. He is affectionate, gregarious, and
completely dependent upon companionship - so much so that he is deeply influenced, and often
molded, by personal relationships.
He dislikes the unpleasant aspects of living, criticism or harsh words, being alone, injustice,
practicing or working hard, reporting to work on time, insults, ugly or sordid surroundings.
Peace and harmony are at the top of his list of what he likes, followed by understanding and
companionship. He takes things as they come and dabbles in many activities. He feels
comfortable working in a social area where travel, variety of contact, negotiation, or arbitration
enter the picture. He prefers to work in collaboration with others or on their behalf.
SCORPIO
Scorpio motivation arises from an intense desire to discern hidden and unknown factors. There
is a great internal force generated by a perpetual conflict of mind and emotion. Though
outwardly controlled, he is strongly affected by, and closely in touch with, subjective phases of
life. His introvertive instinct draws him like a magnet to the puzzles and problems needing
solution - to situations where he can exercise his resourcefulness. He welcomes challenges to
surmount, or to surpass or overcome obstacles. Added to his persistence and concentration,
this response to challenge prompts others to trust him to face the most difficult and disagreeing
projects.

Familiarity rubs him the wrong way, as does compromising, asking questions, publicity, vain
show, people who dabble, taking second place, defeat, frivolities, and inactivity.
He admires proper conduct in others. Set in his ways and habits, he likes to work by himself and
to be given full responsibility. He keeps things to himself and will unite with others to work for a
common cause if he can stay in the background.
SAGITTARIUS
An eager search for knowledge points to the ideas, precepts, and ideals that cushion the
Sagittarian motivation. An urge to grow and broaden mentally inspires him constantly to ask
himself questions and then to speculate upon the answers. He visualizes his conceptions in their
wholeness rather than in their parts. He by-passes observable facts for his own notions as he
thinks things out from a given premise to a natural conclusion. He is essentially an intellectualist
with an active intuition; mental journeys allow him to get away from himself and his environment
so that he can broaden his horizons.
He dislikes being disappointed about his ideals, political diplomacy, talk that skirts the point,
formal etiquette, and closed-in areas or places of restraint and confinement. His patience is tried
with the natural growth of plans and projects.
He is at his best when called upon to make lightning-like decisions, to use physical and mental
activity, to engage in the zest of an argument. He prefers effectiveness rather than elegance. He
likes to consider both his life and his work as a game to be won. He needs recreation because
at times his intensity tends to burn up his vitality.
CAPRICORN
Mainly anchored in a deep desire to be sure of himself, Capricorn motivation expresses through
organization and utilization on the material, tangible plane of consciousness. A practical person
of action, he throws himself into the conquest and domination of conditions. He is capable of
battling terrific odds. He recognizes and accepts barriers and limitations that might phase others
because he measures his worth by visible proof rather than by potentialities. Because he
believes experience is the best teacher, he is apt to shoulder any responsibility. His comment:
"Easy? No! Possible? Yes." Then he works long, hard hours to prove it. His ambition builds
every temporary failure into one of the rungs on his ladder to success.
He dislikes waste, hit-or-miss methods, theories, speculations, emotional situations, small talk,
losers, and to be controlled and buffeted by events or conditions.
He likes to get things finished, to economize and synthesize, and to coordinate others. He enjoys
punctuality, responsibility, tradition and convention, worldly success, and the trade atmosphere.
AQUARIUS
The Aquarian breadth of view and objective detachment motivates his interest to turn outward
and concentrate on humanity. Aquarius feels the need to serve the masses in ways that will
enlarge their vision and better their conditions. His approach is more theoretical than practical,
for he instinctively acts and does things to create given effects. He meets kindness with
kindness, but under stress may become exceedingly stubborn, argumentative, and
unmanageable. However, he is inclined to live and let live. His temperament is intellectual,
idealistic, and definitely positive.
He dislikes a static, routine atmosphere; cloying emotional relationships; hypocrisy and cant;
bias and prejudice; tradition and conventionality (especially as related to thought).
Investigating purely for its own sake brings him pleasure, as does expounding, debating, and
arguing. His interest in politics and religion is related to the welfare of humanity. His
independence and love of fresh experiences prompts quick changes that are often spasmodic,
and his life seems to go contrary to expectation. He is at his best in a free, progressive
environment.

PISCES
Proteanism (having a varied nature or the ability to assume different forms; displaying great
diversity or variety; versatile) is the basis from which the Piscean motivation flows.
Impressionability, adaptability, and versatility strongly mark the temperament. His kaleidoscopic
subconscious mind captures bits of pulsing color from every experience and weaves them into
portraits of human compassion as his creative imagination operates to answer the silent distress
call of those in need. All thoughts, feelings, and actions are sensitive to perception, inspiration,
and intuition. Thus the people he associates with, as well as the environments he finds himself in,
assume importance in relation to his feelings of security and accomplishment.
Pisces wilts under adversity, criticism, or disapproval. He dislikes mental labor or hard work
requiring critical analysis, strict methods, or dealing with details and facts.
He enjoys participating fully in the joys and sorrows of people. Power takes a back seat to
experience. He serves for love, not duty, and sacrifices his own interests for the welfare of
others. Praise elicits his best efforts, and his talents express to their utmost in places that are
warm and friendly.

BUSINESS AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT

Business Planets - Jupiter and Saturn
From the business angle the qualities they map - buying, selling, bargaining and sound business
sense - are also necessary for successful self-employment.
Saturn's characteristic influence is to depress, contract, and restrict. The best expression of his
energies is through caution. But this trend may be overdone under a discordant Saturn. If so, the
person could wait too long and thus miss a rewarding opportunity for growth. A lack of courage

Cosmodynes - Background

http://www.astrowin.org/cdyne_2.php

may well attract a recession or even failure to the businessman.

Jupiter's characteristic influence is outgoing, extrovertive, and enthusiastic. The best expression
of his energies is through faith and confidence. But when Jupiter is afflicted, energy expenditure
tends to get out of hand, the person becomes excessive and overly extravagant. This type of
splurging may attract financial failure or even bankruptcy to the businessman.
Unlike Saturn, Jupiter couldn't be bothered with pinching pennies over small differences in cost.
Jupiter is not limited the way Saturn is. No one seems to get a chance to outdo the strong
Saturn type in a bargain. Yet Saturn's caution and self-interest can corner him. If it does, he is
stuck with a supply and no demand, because people ignore him. Jupiter is the seller and
spender, Saturn is the buyer and saver.
Business Environment
Three broad influences interlace the fabric of everyday life. They concern political activity, the
direction of mass mind, and business activity, all of which color the atmosphere in which clients
and customers live and function. Jupiter and Saturn rule a large portion of what goes into
forming this complex mainstream.
On the political level Jupiter denotes the influence of capitalism, while Saturn maps
conservatism. As for the stimulation of mass mind, Jupiter denotes a faith and confidence, while
Saturn maps caution and restraint. On the business level Jupiter denotes finance and commerce,
while Saturn maps the land and basic utilities.
In a general way it is easy to see the importance of the energy releases of Jupiter and Saturn.
But the point is made emphatically clear by distinguishing the business-related subjects marked
by their astrological signatures.
Many of Saturn's signatures are land related. Its rulership covers a wide range including the
crops growing on that land, the ores under the land, and the environment surrounding the land in
the form of weather. This takes in agriculture, farming, mines, mining, laborers, minerals, basic
utilities (steel, lumber, coal), floods, storms, hurricanes, cyclones, and the acquisition of and
bargaining for property (real estate), among other things.
Finance, commerce, and the professions are stamped with Jupiter's signature. Under finance
are banking, loans and credit lines, investments, foreign exchange rates, duties, and tariffs.
Under commerce are contracts with foreign countries (political, import/export), interstate
commerce, arbitration between countries, and shipping (especially long-distance). Under
professions are bankers, lawyers, doctors, etc., as well as judiciary bodies like the Supreme
Court and juries. Publicly expressed opinion includes teaching, lecturing, preaching, books,
publishing, and advertising, among others.
These rulerships demonstrate that all of the business areas of importance relate strongly to
Jupiter or Saturn. If a client expects success in his own business, his Cosmodyne Report should
reveal both of these planets to be strong and harmonious.
Summation
When the factors of business success - the tenth house, the Sun, and the business planets have been judged separately, then synthesized and found to be weak and afflicted, the client
should be advised to work for others.
