Q: Tell me about yourself!

Im Zubair. I am working as mechanical engineer in an engineering consultancy
firm in KL, Perunding Hashim & NEH.
I have worked there for almost a year and my job is mainly designing mechanical
services for high rise building which include the design of.. Before working
with my current employer, I have a short stint working at Sime Darby Industrial
as a Procurement Executive under the Skim Latihan 1 Malaysia Programme.
My education background is purely mechanical engineering. Last year, I just
graduated with MSc in Mechanical Engineering from University of South Wales,
UK. I also hold a bachelor of engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Cardiff
University.
For your information, I am a self-motivated person and a great team player. I am
confident that I could contribute to the work at your company by working very
hard to find solution for any tasks. Besides that, with my good interpersonal skills
and the ability to work well individually or as part of a team, I can assure you
that I can handle any projects given with limited time and under pressure.
My current objective is to secure a challenging position in a leading organization
that utilizes my experience and technical skills, while allowing me the
opportunity to grow professionally and become an expert in my field. I hope by
working in one of the largest consulting firm in Malaysia such as SSP, I will have
opportunity to involve in big projects and could learned from good mentors here
in order to develop myself to be a professional engineer as soon as possible.

Q: Why are you interested in this position/ Why do you want to work here?
A: I have always wanted to work in a big company that involved in mega projects
and work alongside experts in order to develop myself to be an expert in my
field. And the reason I want to be in consulting industry is because the work
involves with all stages of project development and I believe that will improved a
lot of my technical skills and I will have better understanding of all engineering
systems.
I was really impressed when I read about the history of this company and its
commitment for continual improvement. I really feel that I could excel here.

Q: Describe your current job role.

-involved in BBCC project, a mix development project (shopping mall, hotel,
service apartments, tower and offices) ours got to design services for service

apartments
-I assisting senior engineer in designing the mechanical services and coordinate
with architect and other consultants
-From time to time, my boss also ask me to help him to provide costing for other
projects.
Q: Do you have any accomplishment during your last employment?
Tips: To answer this question well, youll talk about the accomplishment itself,
what problems you had to overcome in order to succeed, what you enjoyed
about the experience, and what results you achieved.
A: I have experience where it was a time to submit building plan to DBKL and my
senior was on vacation for unknown reason. I have to make critical decision that
time because the time was running out and

Q: Why are you looking for a new opportunity now?

A: I would like to improve myself and accelerate my career to a higher level. It
will be a big decision for me if I leave my current office, as there a few people
that I have learned a lot from their skills and expertise and there are still a lot to
learn for. But in my opinion, I think by working in a company that committed to
improve the competency of its staff, it will benefit me more in term of my career
development.
Q: What are your strengths?
A: One of my strengths is my positive thinking. Im always think positive in
whatever circumstances and it has helped me overcome many problems. I
always believe that there are nothings that cannot be overcome; it is a matter of
your will. For example when I facing a problem or I do not know how to do
something, instead of just sitting down, I will take other initiatives such as
researching, asking people or inventing new thing. In term of works, this is where
Im being creative but it all starts with positive thinking.
Q: What are your weaknesses?
A: Being too nice that people take advantage of that. Im learning to make
people understand that I am serious.
