My Questionnaire Answers:
How to integrate technology in a learning process? "Effective integration of technology is
achieved when students are able to select technology tools to help them obtain information in a
timely manner, analyze and synthesize the information, and present it professionally. The
technology should become an integral part of how the classroom functions -- as accessible as all
other classroom tools."-- National Educational Technology Standards For Students,
International Society For Technology In Education. (Edutopia: Goerge Lucas Educational
Foundation, 2007)
It is important that the integration of technology be an informative tool that allows the student to
fee drawn to use it for the betterment of his or her educational purposes.
Why do we need technology in the learning process? Integrating technology into classroom
instruction means more than teaching basic computer skills and software programs in a separate
computer class. Effective tech integration must happen across the curriculum in ways that
research shows deepen and enhance the learning process. In particular, it must support four key
components of learning: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and
feedback, and connection to real-world experts." (Edutopia: George Lucas Educational
Foundation, 2007)
What are the benefits of technology in the learning process? It is said that with the use of
technology our student have the world at their finger tips. Without technology our student are not
just underprivileged but they are left to not be accepted in a world that requires a understanding
of technology and the power it carries.
In this day and age can we do without technology in the learning process?
It is impossible to build success in our classrooms without it. The colleges and jobs of today will
require them to understand and need the technologies of today and the future. We can no longer
sit back and allow technology to stop us in our tracks. We have to be able to train, teach and
understand the technology world our students future depends on it. As teachers we are
responsible for what we teach and dont teach. We can learn with them if we as teachers explore
the possibilities.

Facilitate Group Activities

There are many ways to facilitate group activities. Some of them we already use on a
daily bases. Online collaboration tools, such as those in Google Apps, allows students and
instructors to share documents online, edit them in real time and project them on a screen. This
gives students a collaborative platform in which to brainstorm ideas and document their work
using text and images. Presentation software (such as PowerPoint) enable instructors to embed
high-resolution photographs, diagrams, videos and sound files to augment text and verbal lecture
content. Tablets can be linked to computers, projectors and the cloud so that students and
instructors can communicate through text, drawings and diagrams. Course management
tools such as Canvas allow instructors to organize all the resources students need for a class (e.g.
syllabi, assignments, readings, online quizzes), provide valuable grading tools, and create spaces
for discussion, document sharing, and video and audio commentary. All courses are
automatically given a Canvas site! Clickers and Smartphones are a quick and easy way to
survey students during class. This is great for instant polling, which can quickly assess students
understanding and help instructors adjust pace and content.
Managing Students conducting Research
The purpose of researching is to explore and look into the topic you are given. The most
important thing is to find enough information to explore. The internet and technology is the best
way for the students to find that information. We must guide them and monitor the places they
explore, but we can do that in several ways. Managing their time on a particular website is a way
to manage student research. Students can be divided into pairs and collaborative groups to
manage the research. It is important in these groups that they are held accountable for their

information. (Edutopia: George Lucas Educational Foundation, 2007)

Managing Communicating Final Projects

You manage by having an objective. Each one has a specific goal to reach. The
schedule you create is the point in time which they must have it accomplished. The
complexity answers how difficult the objective can be without the proper technology.
It is important to make sure the students are letting you know what they need to
accomplish the objective. They may need a step by step plan to guide them through
the technology they are to use in order to accomplish the task. The resources that are
available to the students will guide the result as well. How many computers per
student can make a difference? The lack of computers can cause the time management
issue. Are there hand held devices that can be used available? These are devices like
smart phones that can take the place of computers, but you have to be careful the
students are using them for the purpose of the assignment. All these devices are and
can be great for the purposes they are suppose to be used for. Observation is important
to make sure that is happening. Make sure the devices incorporated are approved from
the organizational structure you are under. The iPods and the tablets must be approved
and loaded with the programs and apps that make it easy for the students to access the
information. This can insure information and systems control.
Conclusion
In conclusion technology is the future and we as teachers have the power to
give our student the best start they can get when we open up their minds to the
possibilities. The world is theirs for the taking if we give them the keys!
