Alireza Akbari is a PhD researcher of Translation and Technology at KU Leuven, Belgium. He

has published several papers on translation studies and applied linguistics in the most
prestigious journals (e.g. SAGE Publications and De Gruyter Mouton). Also, he has
participated in various significant Translation and Interpreting conferences. He is now writing
his PhD dissertation under the supervision of Prof. dr. Winibert Segers about 'Translation
Evaluation Product of Political Translation through Holistic, Analytic, Calibration of
Dichotomous Items and Preselected Items Evaluations Methods'. His main interests lie in the
areas of translation evaluation products, theories of translation, and legal translation.
Rhona Amos is a PhD candidate and Research and Teaching Assistant in the Interpreting
Department at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the University of Geneva. Her
PhD focuses on the relevance of predictive processes in aural language comprehension as well
as the effect of language production on prediction for the simultaneous interpreting paradigm.
Gaia Aragrande is a Ph.D. Student at Bologna and Monash University. Her research is about
multilingual news and translation with the aim to analyse translational features in
multilingual journalism, eventually trying to decipher how discourses are built through the
news and how language transfer activities in journalistic contexts might help or hinder the
creation of such discourses. Her research interests also include political and migration
discourses and alternative forms of media.
Esther de Boe holds a MA in Liberal Arts, a MA in Translation and a EMCI, and has worked
at the University of Antwerp since 2011, teaching translation and interpreting at bachelor and
master level. She is a sworn translator and interpreter and currently works on a PhD on
remote interpreting in medical healthcare.
Camille Collard holds a Bachelor in Translation and Interpretation at the University of Mons,
and graduated from a two-year Master in Conference Interpreting (English, German and
French) at the University of Brussels in 2014. One year later, she started a Ph.D. on gender
differences in simultaneous interpreting at Ghent University.
Vesna Luicky is a doctoral candidate at the University of Vienna. Her research interests
include translation technology, terminology, translator training, and digital humanities. She
has participated in European and national research projects and is author of scientific
publications in these fields. She has taught in the areas of translation technology, language
industry, localization, and terminology.
Blanca Hernndez Pardo is a Ph.D. student in Medical Translation, with a BA in Translation
and Interpreting Studies and a specialization MA in Medical Translation Studies. She works as
a freelance Sworn Translator, Project Manager and University Lecturer. Blanca teaches
Technical and Scientific Translation and Professional Internship at the Universidad Pontificia
Comillas, and acts also as projects coordinator in the Ph.D. School of her University.
