Boarding School Rules
Hi, I am Afanasie. I study at a boarding school in Folkestone, a small and quiet city in the
south of England.
There are eighty foreign students in our school. We have to adapt to each other and to the
school. In addition, we have to adapt to the changes of the British weather. At school, we
have to attend all the day.
The rules in the boarding house are very strict. We live in rooms of two and have to clean
them every day. We have to cook our meals in the kitchen of our boarding house. Each
student can do the laundry on the day when he or she can use the washing machine. We have
two hours a day of study time when we have to work silently in our rooms without internet.
When we go to the city, we have to be back in our rooms at 7:30 p.m. On Fridays, we can
stay in the city until 10.30 p.m.
