Welcome to YMCA Camp Ingersoll
Our 77-acre outdoor center is located on beautiful Jobs Pond in Portland, CT. With a great
combination of open field space, modern facilities and tranquil woodlands, we are the
ideal place for children to grow in spirit, mind and body. The staff at YMCA Camp Ingersoll
are all carefully screened and selected based on their character, judgement, maturity and
experience. All staff are certified in CPR and there is a full-time nurse on duty during the
camp day. As a licensed day camp, we meet or exceed all of the guidelines set by the
Connecticut Department of Health.

YMCA Camp Ingersoll 2010 Summer Calendar

As I reflect about how fortunate I am to be able to have this opportunity to
come back and lead this great camp, I realize how much YMCA Camp Ingersoll has
meant to me and to so many other staff, campers, and families throughout the
years. Camp is a place where folks of all ages are able to meet new people, many

camp. As I look to our staff team, I see former campers who have experienced the
many special qualities camp has to offer first-hand as they have become dedicated
and professional role models. For instance, Caitlin, a camper in my Climbing Challenge program, developed trust
and overcame her fears as she climbed part of Mount Washington. And Nick, a Middle Boy who begged his mom
