Veto member
The United Nations Security Council
"power of veto" refers to the veto power wielded
solely by the five permanent members of the United
Nations Security Council (China, France, Russia,
United Kingdom, and United States), enabling them
to prevent the adoption of any "substantive"
resolution.

Headquarter
Four of the five principal organs are located at the
main United Nation Headquarters in New York City.
The International Court of Justice is located in The
Hague, while other major agencies are based in
the UN offices at Geneva, Vienna, and Nairobi.
Other UN institutions are located throughout the
world. The six official languages of the United
Nations, used in intergovernmental meetings and
documents, are Arabic, Chinese, English, French,
Russian, and Spanish.
Human rights
One of the UN's primary purposes is "promoting and
encouraging respect for human rights and for
fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to
race, language, or religion", and member states
pledge to undertake "joint and separate action" to
protect these rights.
