In 1953, Louis I kahn was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects[FAIA],
it is given to those architects who have done a outstanding contribution in the field of
Architecture.
In 1964, he was made one of the members of National Institute of Arts and Letters. The same
year he was also awarded with the Frank P. Brown Medal.
The very next year 1965, he was announced as an Associate Academician in the National
Academy of Design.
In 1968, he was made one of the members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
In 1971, he was awarded the AIA Gold Medal which is the highest award given by AIA to
any individual.
In 1972, he was awarded by the RIBA with the Royal Gold Medal.
