An animals eyes have the power to speak a great language .

Animals are the most sincere , innocent creatures in the

whole world .It is enough to look at such being like a cat , a bird ,
a dog , and your heart will be full of emotions .They are like
people : they can cry , can suffer and of course they can be
pleased. The matter is that animals give us so much , and we
being careless get all of them . Really , do we have the right to
exploit them ? Do we have the right to kill them and steal their
lives ? The answer is : of course no , they are a part of us , they
are indispensable factor that play a main role in our Planet life
.Although we all suppose this thing , we continue to make them
suffering , to destroy their lives .
Each of us dreams to be forever young and
beautiful .Nowadays the price of the beauty and youth is paid by
innocent , unoffending animals .Animals experimentation are
cruel and widely used to develop new medicines and to test the
safety of other products . Majority experiments cause pain to the
animals involved or reduce their quality or life in other ways . It is
very hard to imagine how many animals dye everyday from all
violent testations .They are force to sacrifes theirselves in the
favour of developing and discovering things without which people
now cant exist .
Imagine you as usual go to shop and buy like everyday :
toothpaste , creams , shower gel , shampoo , you put it in your
bag and go home . Then you use it , and when it will finish you
will buy other products . I am sure that you dont think about the
consistency of that products . A bottle of shower gel was obtained
in result of testing on mice the components , that toothpaste also
was tasted on a rabbit or an a monkey with regret this is the
reality , and now can you use this products , knowing that behind
it is hidden a cruel reality : a pain , or a death of an animal
Respected audience we cant remain silent , we must stop such
things .
We made this project with hope to convince people with their
mistakes , to inform people with situation .

Tide (Alo or Ace in some countries) is the brand-name of a popular

COMPANY

Many cosmetics companies misleadingly claim their products are

not tested on animals but are not so keen to admit that they still
use animal-tested ingredients. In these crude poisoning tests,
chemicals are force-fed to animals, injected into them, dripped
into their eyes and rubbed into their raw skin. Here is an overview

that explains how to recognise the companies that try to give the
impression they are cruelty-free, when they're not!
Cosmetics companies can, broadly speaking, be divided into three
categories with regard to their animal testing policies.
Chemical-producing companies that test on animals themselves
or pay researchers to carry out animal tests on their behalf e.g.
Beiersdorf
Colgate
Johnson & Johnson
L'Oreal
PZ Cussons
Procter & Gamble
Reckitt Benckiser
Unilever
They tend to be larger companies and often have a raft of
different cosmetic brands, for example 'Dove' and 'Organics' are
Unilever brands. 'Herbal Essences' and 'Max Factor' are P&G
brands. 'Garnier' and 'Lancome' are L'Oreal brands, the Body
Shop are now owned by L'Oreal too. So rule number one is always
look to see who the parent company is.
The second category are cosmetics companies that tend not to
test on animals themselves but continue to buy, use and benefit
financially from chemical ingredients that have recently been
tested on animals by their suppliers. Many cosmetic brands fall
into this category e.g.
Avon
Boots brands
Chanel
Clarins

Clinique
Estee Lauder
Givenchy
Revlon
Tresemme
Supermarkets:
Asda
Lidl
Morrisons
Most of them are very clever at deceiving the public with the
claims they make about animal testing.
The final category consists of companies that adhere to a Fixed
Cut Off Date scheme. This means that the company will not buy
or use ingredients that have been tested on animals by
themselves or their suppliers after a set date (e.g. 1995). This is
the only method by which manufacturers can send a clear
message to their suppliers and the rest of the industry that the
company is not prepared to profit from animal tested ingredients.
Most animal testing for cosmetics takes place on "new to the
world" chemicals. There are already thousands of chemicals with
a proven safety record available.
You may be wondering why these companies are so keen to have
access to new chemicals, especially when the majority of
consumers are against animal testing for cosmetics? Well it's so
they can market their products as new and improved - basically
so they can make more money. For example P&G claim that their
Olay Regenerist moisturizer beautifully regenerates skins
appearance - thanks to their new Amino-Peptide Complex. And
that their Total Effects moisturizer contains an exclusive
VitaNiacin formula (the science part!). P&G and others are filling
their products with all sorts of new chemical ingredients. It's to
boost their marketing hype and P&G are recognised as world
leaders. These companies are taking a gamble on the fact that

most consumers assume that cosmetics are no longer tested on

animals or are unable to see through their cleverly worded
animal testing policies

We was very interested , and investigated products of the biggest

shops in Balti .
So the first we investigated Fourchette . Fist of all we ask for a
help of a worker to show us cosmetics products , we follow him
at began to find products that were in Black list . We obtained
this result : around 61,25 % of all cosmetic and laundry products
are tested on animals .This result disappointed us , but we
continued our investigation in another big shop Fidesco .After our
analysis we found out that 47,8 % of products are tested on
animals .The last shop that we examinate was Green HIls , it was
difficult to found the workers , and we want to ment that the

personal at this shop wasnt polite , we explorate all products and

reach this result , that 71,3 % of all products was tested on
animals .
We informed you , respected audience of the situation , and
purposed to make with us an imaginary trip through american
laboratories .

Gillette is a brand of Procter & Gamble currently used for safety

razors, among other personal care products. Based in Boston,
Massachusetts, United States, it was one of several brands
originally owned by The Gillette Company, a leading global
supplier of products under various brands, which was merged into
P&G in 2005. The original Gillette Company was founded by King
Camp Gillette in 1895 as a safety razor manufacturer. The desire
to releaseperfect products made gillette company to taste their
products on anilmals , so this company take too of our black list .

********** important
The sunscreen products are also tested on guinea pigs to assess
the level of allergic reaction and irritation. These cosmetic testing
could cause bleeding problems to the animals. Many reputed
companies employ the outside companies so as to avoid criticism
from the society and the activists. Statistics points out that 50%
of the animals die two or three weeks after the experimentation.
The companies give various reasons to justify the cosmetic animal
testing. They say that many countries have passed regulations
which states that the preservatives and lotions have to be tested
before the usage. But, the critics argue that no law specifically
demands the testing of cosmetics on animals. The demand by the
customers for new cosmetics also prompts the companies to test
their products on animals. It is also said that the cruelty-free
companies are more expensive than the rest of the companies. It
is a common complaint that companies carry out these tests for
publicity. Statistics also points out the fact that 75% of the
Americans are against cosmetic testing on animals and many
companies have adopted more human ways of cosmetic testing
due to the popular public demand. The finished cosmetic products
are no longer being tested on animals as they are tested on the
human volunteers
We find that
The cosmetic companies point out the following benefits for
cosmetic testing on animals:
Protecting the human health and safety: The companies claim
that protecting human health is the main reason for carrying out
the cosmetic testing on animals. The companies claim to carry
out these tests so that they could establish the safety of their
products beyond doubts.
The cosmetic animal testing also enables the company to
maintain a competitive edge over the other companies.

The companies also feel that they are safeguarding the

environment by testing their cosmetics on animals.
It is said that the consumers have also been putting pressure on
the companies to offer safe and improved products.
The tests performed on animals are not entirely reliable as they
give guarantee protection to the people only for a short period of
time. The following are the disadvantages of the cosmetic animal
testing:
It causes severe allergic reactions to the tested animals.
The cosmetic testing could also cause liver problems, swollen
eyelids, ulceration and bleeding to the animals.
Inhuman treatment of the animals.
The animals are said to have a different distribution of fine blood
vessels and their skin does not react in the same way to the tests
as that of a human.
The cosmetic testing on animals is very expensive.
The cosmetic testing on animals is said to be less reliable.
The animals are made to endure a lot of tests in the labs making
the end-result meaningless.

The critics point out that the alternatives to the animal testing
could also be used to test the safety of the cosmetics. The
alternatives are cell cultures, tissue cultures, corneas from the
eye banks and sophisticated computer models.

The following are the alternatives that could be used in the place
of cosmetic testing on animals:
A HET-CAM test for eye-irritancy could be done. These tests have
been successfully carried out in Germany and Belgium.
The vitro methods could be used to test the skin irritation.
