CLU3M: RESEARCH REPORT

The Role of the Jury Research Report

Canadas jury system derives most directly from the English common law. which entitled
accused persons, in certain cases, to be tried by judge and jury. However, both the purpose of
the jury, and jury procedures, have evolved significantly through the centuries.
In a 2-3 page response, you will need to discuss the role of the jury system in a criminal trial in
Canada. The overall and main purpose of the research report is to conduct research and
identify/ discuss some of the pros and cons of a jury system in Canada.
