DEVELOPMENT OF COLOUR TELEVISION TRAINER to SUPPORT AUDIOVIDEO TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITY for STUDY PROGRAM of

Abtract: Based on the interview with the audio video lecturer from Electronic Engineering

Program Study at State University of Malang, trainers that are used in the audio video
teaching and learning activity are: (1) the connecting structures of the blocks are not
separated so that the students find it difficult to learn how to repair a television; (2) there is no
test point to do measuring and repair a television; (3) no jobsheet and text point cause
students to experience difficulties in practical work; (4) the support modules are very few so
that the students cannot broaden their knowledge in repairing a television; (5) the
development of module trainer in colored television which is completed by test point and
electric switch module trainer is needed; and (6) the modules previously mentioned need to
be supported by the development modules and manual books which is suitable with colored
television trainer. That is why; Development of Color Television Trainer to Support Audio
Video Teaching and Learning Activity for Diploma 3 Electronic Study Program, State
University of Malang is made.
This research is conducted to illustrate some things such as (1) to ease the teachers to transfer
the knowledge they have to the students; (2) to give direct experiences to the students; (3) to
ease in understanding concepts and indentifying the damages of the television; (4) to
experience directly how to repair a television; and (5) to develop television trainer in
electronic engineering at State University of Malang.
The development model of this material is the model that has been modified from the
development model of Borg and Gall that is adjusted with the condition of field experiences.
The steps that are done to conduct a research in this material are (1) needs analysis; (2) media
planning; (3) product development; (4) validation; (5) the experiment of field group; (6)
revision, (7) the final product and report. The data collection is done by using the interview
technique, observation, and questionnaire.
Based on the result of the trial, the percentage for each subject was gotten as follows (1) for
the media expert, the percentage is 90,00%; (2) for the material expert, the percentage was
88,88%; (3) for the users or students trials, the percentage was 89,41%. It can be concluded
that Development of Color Television Trainer to Support Audio Video Teaching and
Learning Activity for Diploma 3 Electronic Program Study, State University of Malang was
appropriate to be used as the material for teaching and learning activity.
