Warm up; Instant Soccer Tag

Set up:

8 cones will be used to make two

playing areas. The cones used
will make the boundaries; 8m by
8m.

Two players from each playing

square will be designated to be
the taggers- they do not need a
soccer ball.

All other students receive a

soccer ball and enter the playing
area. - waiting for further
instructions.
Instructions:

Today we are going to begin the

lesson by playing a game of
soccer tag. Every person will
have a ball to dribble within the
coned area except for the
taggers.

There will be two playing areas.

Group 1 in playing area 1, Group
2 in playing area 2.

There will be three taggers in

each playing area who will be
wearing the red bibs that I will
give to them before we start.

If your ball gets knocked out of

bounds, carefully retrieve the ball
and re-enter the playing area and
freeze by putting the ball above
your head.

You can become unfrozen by

making a tunnel with your legs so
that other dribblers can dribble
their ball between your legs.

Remember, you can only become

unfrozen when someone dribbles
their ball between your legs.

If your ball rolls outside the coned

area, you are then frozen as well.

When you are moving throughout

the playing area, please be
careful of others self-space.

We will need two volunteers to be

the taggers for each playing area
to get us started.

When I say go, please take a

soccer ball and begin dribbling
inside the coned area. Taggers,
begin!

Bridging organisation
To move smoothly onto the next activity, bring the class in an as they are moving in, organize the students into 2 groups, within
those groups there will be 4 teams of 6. Designate a student from each team to hand out the bibs and to get a soccer ball for
