SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The AD250 Wireless is a new generation acoustic telemetry system that measures wellbore pressure and
temperature in real time, a mandatory requirement for good reservoir management in oil & gas wells. Our
wireless downhole P&T system packages are ideal for DST, well testing, artiicial lift, free-low and observation
wells to unlimited depth. The wireless gauges and repeaters can be run on tubing or retro-it on gauge
hanger. It requires no cables, no wellhead penetration and no cranes or trucks as the entire system can be
hand carried to well-site.
Industry standard high accuracy sensors in the gauge measure pressure and temperature in the wellbore
several times per day. This data is transmitted to the surface in real time along the production tubular using
advanced acoustic telemetry. At the surface an accelerometer magnetically attached to the wellhead picks up
the signal, which is then processed in a compact, low power, signal decoder. Data is stored on an integrated
SD card, which can be transmitted via Modbus RTU (RS485) or Ethernet. For non-networked applications the
data may be read from the integral OLED display or downloaded to a laptop via the SD Card.
Installation of our AD250 Wireless System in your oil & gas wells will not only provide you with real time well
pressure data, but also save you money, time and effort.

In order to demonstrate the viability of the AD250 Wireless System as an alternative to EM telemetry, a
trial was conducted with a single AD250 Wireless Real-Time Gauge without repeater, transmitting
data to surface at 1-minute intervals. The gauge was run in tandem with DataCan Memory Gauges
so a direct comparison of data quality was achievable. The above table presents the results.
DataCan , 6,000psi piezo gauges were run in the inside and outside pressure recorder
subs. The above overlay chart represents AD250 Wireless vs DataCan gauges when
corrected for hydrostatic differential pressure due to different locations in the drill string.

Gauges and repeaters were ixed to 2-7/8 tubing by our

bespoke clamps, each gauge and repeater taking about
4-minutes to mount. No loss in rig time was experienced
as these were pre-installed on tubing, activated ahead of
time, and picked up in order as the tubing was run in hole.

The AD250SPM is designed to power and house the AD250 Receiver as a

standalone unit and is designed to operate in the harshest of outdoor environments.
The module is available with a range of communication options. The unit above
is shown with a cellular router that enables the device to connect to the web
via a local mobile phone network (coverage dependant). Data from the AD250
Wireless System may then be accessed by client systems from anywhere in the
world.
Where site power is available we recommend the receiver is mounted in an
enclosure without the Solar Power Components.
An Exd enclosure is available for hazardous zone installations. Speciications
provided on enquiry.
