It is with great pleasure that I submit to you my application for the POSITION at
ORGANIZATION. As an energetic policy professional, I have over eight years of
experience designing and implementing powerful programs, engaging events, and creative
communications across a variety of organizational functions, as well as building dynamic and
successful partnerships.
My experience spans the public, private, nonprofit, and international organization sectors,
and I have spent the past three years applying my skill sets, developed through work in health
and education policy, to corporate responsibility and sustainability projects. I became
interested in CSR in graduate school at Sciences Po in Paris and fed this interest with an
independent research project about CSR practices in France, course work in supply chains,
and a Capstone project with the Fair Labor Association. I now follow sustainability trends
and developments and write analyses of the major leaders in best practices and innovation.
The POSITION description strongly corresponds to my profile, and I am eager to take on the
combination of program, research, and communications. Most recently, I:
Consulted for a foundation seeking partners for clean energy investments in Ghana
Investigated wage practices in Vietnamese textile factories through field research for
the Fair Labor Association
Coordinated the expansion of a World Bank program on higher education, as well as
related events in France and Egypt
Promoted womens health through policy work and partnership development in
Washington, DC
I have also enjoyed communications responsibilities throughout my career, focusing on
policy research and legislative reports, as well as press releases, speeches, web content,
newsletters, and grant proposals, among others. Last year I started a blog and Twitter
account where I share my impressions of the sustainability landscape.
