Democrats

Education: Education is the key to success, for both individuals and our nation. They believe in
making college as least expensive as possible. They believe that every child no matter what the
zip code should have access to a quality K-12 public education. The recognize education as the
most pressing economic issue in Americas future.
Health Care: Democrats believe in making quality affordable healthcare to all americans. They
believe that no one should go bankrupt just because they get sick. In 1965 with Medicare
America was finally able to provide security to seniors. In 1997, the Childrens Health Insurance
Program was put into play helping over 8 million children.
Civil Rights: They believe that everyone is equal, and everyone should have the same
opportunities. In 2012 they introduced same sex marriage into their party platform. They have
fought to end discrimination in all forms. This includes race, gender, sexual orientation, religion,
ethnicity, age, language and disability.
Jobs and the economy: Democrats are working to build an economy that strengthens the US
and works for every American, not just the upper class. They are working to create jobs, rebuild
our infrastructure, helping small businesses, investing in clean energy technology, and making
sure Wall Street is paying their fair share. Democrats have cut taxes for working families, and
provided help to small business owners. They have also provided relief for hardworking
Americans that have lost their job.
Immigration Reform: Democrats believe immigration is not just a problem to be solved, it is a
defining aspect of the American character and our shared history, -Democratic Party Platform.
They believe that the Department of Homeland Security should prioritize immigration
enforcement, offering deportation relief for young people who grew up in America. The Obama
administration has prioritized immigration enforcement so its focus was on those with criminal
records. Democrats will continue to work toward comprehensive immigration reform that fixes
our nations broken immigration system, improving border security, better prioritizing
enforcement, keeping families together, and strengthening our economy.
Republicans
Education Reform: Republicans believe that its their responsibility to make sure the children
receive a world-class education that brings them to their full potential. They believe that quality
education is necessary to achieve the American Dream. They believe that every child should get
equal access to a quality education no matter what zip code, or their parents income. They
support school-choice programs so students can escape a failing education.
Family Values: They believe that our country should value life family and hard work. They insist
that public policy; from taxes to education, from healthcare to welfare should be created to
strengthen and support American families. Individuals and families should be able to maintain
their independence from government. They should be able to raise their children by their own
values and build communities of self-reliant neighbors.

Immigration: They believe that America is a proud nation of immigrants. They believe that legal
immigrants make important contributions to the everyday aspect of life. They enhance our
culture and strengthen our economy. Republicans also believe that our current immigration
system is broken, and Obama hasnt provided the leadership to fix it.
National Defense: Republicans believe in a strong military, America must not let her guard
down. They believe our national defense system must continue confronting the threat of global
terrorism. Also they believe we must maintain our strong missile defense for both ourselves and
our allies. They support a robust military that protects American citizens.
Energy and Environment: They believe that responsible production of Americas vast natural
resources is necessary to achieve energy independence from foreign suppliers.Their energy
policy should encourage investment, lower prices, and create jobs here at home. They support
domestic energy production of clean coal and hydropower, as well as solar, wind, geothermal
and nuclear power. And they support drilling for oil and natural gas in an environmentally
responsible way.
Green Party
Womens Rights: The Green Party believes that illegal international trafficking in humans,
primarily women, has reached staggering numbers and consequences around the world. They
believe that there should be heavier punishments on those who do traffic. They believe that it
needs to be stopped. They also believe that women from other countries do not get the
opportunities we do in america, and that it should change.
Civil Rights: They believe that the foundation of any democratic society is the guarantee that
each member of society has equal rights. Respect for our constitutionally protected rights is our
best defense against discrimination and the abuse of power. Also, they recognize an intimate
connection between our rights as individuals and our responsibilities to our neighbors and the
planet. They believe that everyone is equal, so we should get equal opportunities.
Non-Violence: They believe that it is essential that they develop effective alternatives to
society's current patterns of violence. They will work to demilitarize and eliminate weapons of
mass destruction, without being naive about the intentions of other governments. They
recognize the need for self-defense and the defense of others who are in danger. They strongly
promote non-violent methods to oppose practices and policies with which they disagree, and will
guide their actions toward lasting personal, community and global peace.
Diversity: they believe it is important to value cultural, ethnic, racial, sexual, religious and
spiritual diversity, and that it's important to promote the development of respectful relationships
across the human spectrum. They believe that the many diverse elements of society should be
reflected in America's Organizations and decision-making bodies, and they support the
leadership of people who have been traditionally closed out of leadership roles. They encourage
respect for all life forms, and increased attention to the preservation of biodiversity.

Community based Economies: They support redesigning their work structures to encourage
employee ownership and workplace democracy. They support developing new economic
activities and institutions that allow Americans to use technology in ways that are humane,
freeing, ecological, and responsive and accountable to communities. They support establishing
a form of basic economic security open to all. They support restructuring America's patterns of
income distribution to reflect the wealth created by those outside the formal monetary economy.
