These two direct suppliers of minerals and gemstones from Bulgaria and India participate for many consecutive

NEW TREND : SCULPTURE ON TOP BLUISH ARAGONITE FROM LAVRION , GREECE

Sculpture of Virgin Mary on blue-green (kalaine) aragonite from Lavrion ,Greece . Pure aragonite (CaCO 3) is white,
but sometimes due to the presence of trace elements may exhibit various colors as in the case of blue aragonite
from Lavrion of which the color is due to copper.

apart from the exceptional mineral specimens from Lavreotiki area , he had on display part of his collection on the
mining history of Lavrion, as can be seen in the photograph below. ORYKTOLOGIKA NEA concentrate the last years
in Systematic Mineralogy where all specimens are in plastic boxes properly labeled with name of mineral and place
of origin.

--Mr. Michael Samouchos and Athanasios Ziros had on display mineral specimens from 'other' areas of Greece and
thus gave the chance to the visitors to learn on new Greek mineral localities . So their stand attracted many
geology students and young collectors. Also the cooperation between Mr. Michael Samouchos and Mr. Ath. Ziros is
a good example of both , displaying self-collected mineral specimens from various areas in Greece and mutual
sharing of their participation in GeMin Exhibition.

As shown in the photographs in this page , there were many visitors at the stand of our Friend and Colleague
Mr. Paul Vlachos, pupil of
Class at 55th Primary School of Piraeus, who participated for second time in GeMin
Exhibition. Pavlos has upgraded both his knowledge and judgment on the topics covered by the GeMin Exhibition.
With clearly upgraded display with more minerals and crystals, Paul was always willing to answer to questions
posed by visitors-collectors approaching his stand . Also Paul had invited his classmates that accompanied him in
his stand and so all the kids honored 30 GeMin 2016 with their presence . Paul, thank you and your classmates as
with your spontaneity, your voices , your smiles combined with colorful crystals , you created a beautiful and
optimistic atmosphere. Looking forward (God willing ) in next 31rst GeMin 2017 , 1-2-3 December 2017 in the same

the stand of ALBANDAKIS and SAHAL GEMSTONE. Also one of the most striking exhibits was a jade sample in egg
shape weighing 130 kilos!!

It is a special joy for us to give the chance to kids and young people from an early age to "open their wings"
towards something they love , to enrich their knowledge, to communicate becoming thus familiar with the
combination : "utilization of knowledge - practice of thinking with
filtration (penetration) entrepreneurship risk in life - cooperation - patience- perseverance discipline - freedom." Because all
seen by the results, we consider that the last 32 years we managed to pass the message through GeMin Exhibition
and the Journal ORYKTOLOGIKA NEA-NEWS ON MINERALS in a large number of young people who were developed
later scientifically and / or Business point of view to Geological Sciences. In this sense, we did something very
simple, we expressed our joy by cutting a birthday tart-cake and celebrate 30 years of GeMin Exhibition , inviting
everyone to come with us on this wonderful journey and believe us it does not matter if in this trip you travel on
first class or economy class, but what is important is to be on board.

**Spodumene (8.0% Li2O), is the most common commercially exploited lithium mineral. Less commercialized are

exploration is proving historically well known and large resources of hectorite (1.2% Li2O) in northwest Nevada,
