Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is a very rich concept. It had been started in the time of Socrates and developed
with the time. Critical thinking is self-guided, self-disciplined thinking which attempts to reason
at the highest level of quality in a fair-minded way. People who think critically consistently
attempt to live logically, practically and empathically. Below three articles focus on critical
thinking towards the students and describes on intellectual evaluation.
The Article on Critical Thinking in the Elementary Classroom: Problems and Solutions
best instruct students in critical thinking skills. Here author had suggested some of the ways such
as Compare and Contrast anything and everything, Encourage Creativity and Teach student
to think critically across curriculum. (Vera Schneider, 2002)[3] Teacher has to provide enough
time and space to student for showing their skills and provide mental work. This will helps
student to think in many different ways and encourage creativity.
Debra Connerly done her action researched on Teaching Critical Thinking Skills to
Fourth Grade Students Identified as Gifted and Talented in 2006[4]. The focus of this study was
on the intellectual standards of clarity, accuracy, relevance, logic, and fairmindedness. Teachers
of gifted students need to create classrooms where critical thinking is taught and practiced.
In 2010, Rush Cosgrove wrote on Critical thinking in the Oxford tutorial: a call for an
explicit and systematic approach. This article mention about Intellectual Evaluation. This is one
of the areas of critical thinking where participating students lacked essential knowledge and
skills. However, Students explanations of intellectual evaluation strongly supported the need for
more explicit instruction in this domain.

Critical Thinking

In brief, Critical thinking is helpful everywhere. It may be a small or a big task or any
situation in life. Initially, its not easy because person has less knowledge and less experience.
Critical thinking is a continuous process.
