EPFO launches Jeevan Pramaan

Special Correspondent
The Employees Provident Fund Organisation has launched Jeevan Pramaan, an Aadhaar
based system for online submission of life certificate and non-remarriage certificate for
pensioners under the Employees Pension Scheme 1995 and Employees Family Pension
Scheme 1971. Under the initiative, pensioners can provide digital life certificate every year
instead of having to be physically present or submit life certificate or non-remarriage
certificate issued by designated authorities.
The digital certification system would do away with the requirement of submitting the
certificates to the pension disbursement bank branch, V. Kalaichelvan, Assistant Provident
Fund Commissioner, Tiruchi, said in a press release.
Under the new initiative, pensioners are required to produce their Aadhaar, bank account and
mobile phone numbers to the disbursing bank or the government e-service centres or the
EPFO district offices in Karur, Thanjavur, Cuddalore, Kumbakonam or the EPFOs Sub
Regional Office on Madurai Road in Tiruchi.
Pension payments from January 2017 would not be released if the pensioner fails to submit
the life or non remarriage certificate in time, Mr. Kalaichelvan said and appealed to all
pensioners to make use of the facility and submit the required documents.
