Materials:
Standards: 11 Utilize health and fitness technologies to develop a healthy lifestyle.
13 compare goals for attaining and maintaining fitness
ISTE Standard 1 Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
Objectives: Students will demonstrate knowledge of health related fitness to develop a fitness plan.
Students will be productive members of a team or a group activity.
Differentiation Strategies: Students with physical disabilities will modify activity to each personal
fitness level. Students will use videos, books, peer tutoring, internet, teacher, and visuals as a source
for learning information needed to complete personal fitness plan.

ENGAGEMENT:
Students will get into 5 groups of 5.
Each group will draw 2 popsicle sticks from the cup. Sticks will have a muscle on them.
I will have www.innerbody.com/image/musfov.html projected on the wall.
Each group will go to the computer, locate their muscle, show the class the muscle using the interactive
website, and then demonstrate 2 exercises to work those muscles.

Assessment:

EXPLORATION: Weight room circuit


Students will use wall timer and lift each station for 30 seconds. Resting 20
seconds between lifts,
Students will complete 5 upper body exercises and 5 lower body exercises. Bicep
curls, tricep reach, overhead press, dips, bench press, leg press, leg extensions,
squats, good mornings,
Students will do 25 min of Wii Just Dance 1

ELABORATION:
Collaborative Assignment- Our Fitness Routine
Students will get into groups of 3-5
Students must create a 6- 8 minute video teaching a fitness lesson. Lesson may be fitness, weights, aerobics,
dance, or yoga. I encourage students to be creative.
Each member must lead a section of the group project.
Students must use 8-10 different movement concepts.
Students must use IMovie, Cameo, Movie Maker or some other form of movie making app.
Activity must include 3 key words and must be described in a brief summary of activity.
