Materials Needed
PlaneBernat worsted weight yarn in red grey and black, 4 coffee stir sticks and a drinking straw
PilotRed Heart soft touch yarn in tan, scrap of white worsted weight yarn, black fabric paint
4mm crochet hook
stitch marker (scrap of yarn)
yarn needle
polyester fiberfill
glue gun
Notes
Finished plane measures 7 x 11. A portion of this pattern is crochet in continuous spirals where the
rounds are not joined. It will be stated if rounds are to be joined. When working in continuous rounds,
place stitch marker at the beginning of each round.

To crochet 2 stitches together.pick up the front loops only of the next 2 stitches, pull loop of yarn

Plane
red yarn
1. Ch 2, work 6sc in second ch from hook.
2. Work 2sc in each stitch =12sc.
3. Work (sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =18sc.
4 10. Work 18sc around.
11. Work (2sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =24sc.
12 19. Work 24sc around.
20. Work (3sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =30sc.
21 - 26.Work 30sc around.
27. Now you will make the opening for the
cockpit insert. Ch 1, turn, 20sc.
28 - 34. Ch 1, turn, 20sc.
35. Ch 10, sc into first stitch of previous row. See photo. Work 19sc around.
36. Work sc into each of the 10 chains, then 20sc around.
37 - 39. Work 30sc around.
40. Change to grey yarn, work 30sc around in the back loops.
41- 47. Work 30sc around.
48. Work (3sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =24sc.
49. Work (2sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =18sc.
50. Work (sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =12sc. Bind off leaving a 5 tail of yarn. Use needle on tail of yarn to
gather remaining stitches closed.
Cockpit Insert grey yarn
1. Ch 2, work 6sc in second ch from hook.
2. Work 2sc in each stitch =12sc.
3. Work (sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =18sc.
4. Work (2sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =24sc.
5. Work (5sc, 3sc in next stitch) x4 =32sc.
6. Work 32sc around in back loops.
7 & 8. Work 32sc around.
9. Work fpsc around. Bind off, leaving a
15 tail of yarn. Stuff airplane with
fiberfill. Insert cockpit.
Use needle on tail of yarn to sew
cockpit into plane. See photos.
5. Hot glue (or sew) the wing supports to the bottom wing, about 1 in from the tip of the wing. See photo.
Then position the top wing and hot glue or sew it in place. See photos.
Use needle on tail of yarn to sew the 2 long edges together, encasing the straw inside.
11. Sew or hot glue each end of the landing gear to the back of the wheels. Fold landing gear as shown in
photo and hot glue or sew to the underside of the plane. See photos. I hot glued on an extra little piece
of the straw for added support.
