The first SC Sports Card & Collectibles Show of 2017 is set to run from February 10-12 at the Miami Valley Centre Mall in Piqua.
As usual, avid sports collectors are encouraged to check out some of the awesome items to be available for purchase.
Also, Ohio State Buckeye fans are ESPECIALLY encouraged to stop out Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 11 and 12, as members of
their football team will be on hand for autograph sessions. Wide receiver Dontra Wilson will be at the show Saturday, Feb. 11, 2-4

Minecraft Lab - Build your own virtual world Saturday, Feb. 4,
from 1-3 p.m. Minecraft is a game where you can create new worlds and
explore these creations with your friends. Teens 18 and under are invited
to join a community game. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own
laptops and use their own Minecraft accounts, but the library has a limited
number of laptops to share. For those new to the game there will be instructions on the big screen.
coLoring for aduLts continues - Ages 16 and up can
meet Wednesdays thru March 15 to color. Enjoy a cup of coffee, cocoa,
or tea while coloring your cares away. Drinks must be in a carrier with a
lid. Beverages, coloring pages, markers, and pens will be provided.
aarP tax assistance - AARP will offer their services to help
the community. There are no sign-ups. First-come, first-serve basis. Times
in February are Thursdays, Feb. 9, 16, and 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and
Monday, Feb. 13, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
buddy reading continues - Buddy reading provides a volunteer with whom a student can read. An adult or high school student will
be able to help your child practice reading. The program will run every
Monday until the end of the school year. Belle the therapy dog will visit
Monday, Feb. 6, at 6:30 p.m.

Haiti Auction In Need of Merchandise to Sell

Princess Ball Slated Feb. 18

At Covington Eagles Hall

Seven years ago, Haiti was hit with a major earthquake. The Cornerstone Dunkard Brethren Church
organized a Benefit Auction to raise funds to assist in the recovery efforts.
The mission of this 8th Annual Haiti Benefit Auction of Miami Valley is to raise money for the Haitian
people. One hundred percent of all sale proceeds go to various missions that are Bible-based, Christ-centered, and work to directly serve the needs of Haitian citizens. The missions involved are already established in Haiti and have educational programs as well as medical services.
But you cant have an auction without merchandise to sell. Please consider donating new or slightly
used, hand-made or purchased items. Donations accepted are services rendered (cater a meal, yard work,
cleaning service, odd jobs, etc.), furniture, sporting event tickets, new tools, coupons, handmade items,
and childrens toys. Contact donations@haitiauction.org to donate your items.
The auction will be held March 10 and 11 at the Darke County Fairgrounds in Greenville. Friday night
there will be a benefit dinner starting at 5 p.m., followed by the Childrens Auction at 7 p.m. for 12 years
and younger. You can view items for the Saturday auction. Saturday starts off with a homemade breakfast,
with selling beginning at 9 a.m. There will also be a Silent Auction. Watch for details!
At the 2016 auction well over 300 people were in attendance. Over 500 lots of merchandise raised
$57,356.99. Wouldnt you like to be a part of this worthwhile project? Donate merchandise, spread the
word, and attend the auction. Donations are accepted on a personal level as well as from corporations.

On Saturday, Feb. 18, Fields of Grace Worship Center will host their 3rd Annual Princess Ball.
This years Ball will feature Belle from the movie Beauty and the Beast. Each little girl will have
a chance to meet Belle and have their picture taken with the Princess.
There will also be a photo booth with a Princess theme for additional pictures and fun.
The Ball will take place at the Covington Eagles Hall from 6-8 p.m. Those attending are asked
to enter at the entrance located on Debra St.
Light snacks and drinks will be served.
There will be a $10 per family admittance.
Gentlemen, bring your little girls for an enchanted evening of dancing and fun!
