we Arlington Ye Hore Than a Remarkable Ebucetion November 18, 2016 Dear Parents: | want to provide you with an update about the work that continues to take place at Nichols to identity and correct any possible conditions that may be causing the concems reported by some Nichols stoff members, Anindependent environmental assessment for the possible presence of mold and other possible contaminants was conducted. Based upon the visual observations and ‘airbome fungal sampling, the independent lab found that there was no harmful mold found ai Nichols. There were some water-camaged ceiling tiles and thermal insulction found during the visual assessment: those will be replaced by the plont services department. In the past week, the plant services department has also addressed several mointenance items, They repaired a sewer line leak under the building and trected the space to eliminate odor, They aisoideniified the source of a roof leak and made tepaic, During next week's break, the district will pertorm a thorough cleaning of the building, including an interior top-down cleaning of all spaces, the removal of all air freshening devices from the faci, refinish vinyl composition tile footing, clean and spoi-treat all carpeting, disinfect all restrooms, cisinfect all water fountairs, and clean debs from exterior ventilation wells. Adaitionolly, the disirict willstart the heating syslem for the facility 1o prepare for cold weather and operale the HVAC system Ihrough the holiday to help remove any oder related to the floor refinishing.
