Production 24 Hours

Marketing possibilities

Due to our group having a limited budget we can only produce a small-
scale production. We do not possess top of the range equipment in
terms of camera and editing software. This is a major set back as we
cannot advertise and promote 24 Hours in a way that we wanted.
However if we were to advertise 24 Hours in an ideal way we would
use advertising methods such as: posters, adverts, billboards and
television advertisements. This would automatically attract a larger
target audience making more people outside the people we are
targeting want to watch it.

Target Audience

Due to there being mild violence in our opening scene, the rating of our
film is 15. However the age range we are aiming for is 15-26, which is
an average range; there are teenage actors that would be starring in it
and this will therefore attract a teenage target audience as this appeals
more to them. We hope to attract to both male and females to create a
non-bias t approach to our film, which will also generate a mass
audience.
We want our audience to be intrigued and want to see more and in
order to achieve this we need to insure that our opening sequence has
a dramatic scene therefore this will grip the audiences attention
making them want to see more.

Context- where will our product be seen?

Our product will be uploaded to YouTube, which will place it in a public

domain making it easier for everyone to view, as it is easily accessible.
In addition to this it will also be uploaded to our group blog as well as
our individual ones.

Style of product

The style of our product is a crime thriller, as it may not be deemed as

a common thing to happen to someone however it has elements of
whats common in an action film. It has a dramatic opening, which
creates enigma and it doesnt follow Todorovs narrative linear theory
due to ours not being in chronological order and stating with the ending
scene first.

Codes and conventions

In order to create enigma we are going to have a small amount of
dialogue, we have chosen to do this as it will create an effect of
unsettledness as the audience will be questioning what is happening
and why these particular words have been said. This will make the
audience sympathise with the protagonist, as they would constantly be
questioning what did he do to deserve this? So in order to perfect this
opening scene we plan on making the actors actions and camera
angles convey the correct message.

Media institutions

The name of our production company is called Gold line productions

and beside this, is the logo that will appear on the films poster,
whenever the film is shown around to the public. Warner brothers
would be a good distributor as they are a well-known company with a
good reputation.
The name of our production is Gold line productions the reason we
chose this is because gold in many peoples cases is deemed as an
expensive precious metal and incorporate this into our production
name gives or audience the impression that we only make the finest
quality movies.

Representations

We like the idea of a female protagonist being perceived as more

dominate than the male. This isnt very common in a lot of movies, as
they still believe in the patriarchal idea of the men being the bravest,
strongest and most intelligent and our group wanted to flip that idea.
We chose an Asian male and female protagonist.

Genre

We will be sticking to a crime action thriller. This scene will be set late
or (when the sun starts to set) I done this because it will create an
element of enigma due to theyre being low-key lighting and it has
elements to suggest its a thriller.
We chose to do a cross-genre to make our production appeal to more of
our target audience.
