Safety Information

Under NO circumstances should the earth safety connections be

broken - internal damage to sensitive electronic components
may occur and at worst electrocution to personnel may result.

This equipment must be earthed.

Relays and associated wiring are rated for SELV levels i.e. 60
Vdc & 30 Vac rms. These levels must not be exceeded.

Maintenance, repairs and electrical connections should be

performed by a suitably qualified person for the country of
installation.

Intended Use - If the equipment is used in a manner not

specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the
equipment may be impaired.

Introduction

Introduction
This manual describes the daily routine usage of the DataPro 5000 (standard
and audit-trail version). For installation, setting up and technical data see
DataPro 5000 Instruction Handbook.

The screenshots in this manual (and the values displayed in them) are for
illustrative purposes only and may not reflect your current settings. Note that
there are also subtle screen layout differences between the 12inch display
version and the 15 inch display version.

Note that a greyed out button on the screens can indicate either one of the
following:
- the button is not applicable to your configuration.
- the user does not have a sufficient level of access. (Setting up user access
levels is described in the Instruction Handbook).
- the button is not accessible until another button is pressed first.

Cross-section Screen
This screen shows a cross-section graphical image of the wall thickness/
placement of transducers and related measurements on the tiles to the left of the
graphic. The Cross Section screen is configurable so your screen may appear
differently. For instructions on configuring the Cross Section screen, refer to the
Instruction Handbook Cross Section Screen. The Cross Section Screen is
divided into three areas: Tiles, Cross Section Graphic and Variance Graph. Click
on one of these areas to magnify it and fill the screen. To restore the screen to
its original layout, click the screen again.

The measurement values

Alternative Cross Section Graphic (Non-curve Fit View)

The inner circle (product core) of the Cross Section Graphic will move toward
the side representing the smallest wall thickness measurement within the gauge
head assembly. The outer circle represents a curve-fit of the selected wall
thickness.

The zoom buttons affect both the cross-hairs and movement of the circles.

Other features/settings are as described on the default cross-section graphic on

previous page.

Product Centering Screen

The Product Position Screen displays the Transducer Table and the Product
Position Graph, which assists you in positioning the product within the gauge
head assembly. The Product Position Screen is accessed via the Product
Position Button on the tool bar on the right of the display. The top of the Product
Position Graphic corresponds to the top of the gauge head assembly. The
Product Position graphic displays the transducer position and the product center
within the gauge head assembly. The Transducer Table on the left side of the
display show the transducer gain, the Signal to Noise Ration (SNR), the Percent
Good Scans (PGS), and the gap measurement for each transducer mounted in
the gauge head assembly.

If the user clicks on the Transducer Table or the Product Position Graphic, that
region will be magnified to fill the screen. To restore the screen to its original
layout, click the screen again.

Operator Maintenance
It is recommended that the PC casing is not opened. Doing so will
invalidate the warranty.

Ventilation slots
Periodically check that the ventilation slots on the DataPro 5000 are not
obscured to prevent damage from excess heat.

Cleaning
Before cleaning switch off the DP5000 PC and all connected devices, and
disconnect the DP5000 PC from the power supply. The DataPro 5000 front can
then be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use any aggressive cleaning
materials, thinners, scouring material or hard objects that could cause scratches.

Touchscreen Overlay
The monitor screen has a touch overlay and care should be taken that it is not
scratched by sharp objects (such as pens or long finger nails). The screen should
be cleaned with non-abrasive solvents e.g. isopropyl alcohol on a soft cloth. Do
not use paper towels as these can cause minute scratches on the overlay. Do
TM
not use ammonia-based cleaners such as Windex .
