Most boys want remote controlled cars during childhood so they can drive

them around, but my motive to get cars as toys had always been
different. I used to open them up to see how they work and retrieve
electrical motors from them to make small fans using the cassette cover
as base for AA battery cells. From an early age, I had an interest in fiddling
with electronics. Sometimes, I would go to the nearby electric store to buy
small bulbs and use them to make small circuits of my own using the
discarded parts from my toys. I would tell my father how making these
small electrical circuits make me very happy. Those casual talks with dad
made me realize I wanted to be someone who knows his way around
electronics and it was a no-brainer for me to set my eyes on a career in
Electrical Engineering from the start of my O Levels.

I was never after grades at school, but that doesnt mean I was an
average student. I got admission in A Levels on a 50% merit scholarship.
My goal had always been to get a firm grasp on the concepts of physics,
chemistry, and mathematics the subjects I like the most. I knew the
importance of these courses and how their application play a vital role in a
career in Electrical Engineering. If I correctly understand the application of
electronics and electromagnetism and strike a perfect balance between
those two using mathematical models, then I do not think there is much
left to fate in the success of any project. I want to be a perfectionist. I
have a tendency to bring things in order. I got to know about this talent
more deeply when I became the Prefect in A2. I love setting up circuits
and performing different experiments in the Physics Practical Lab. I am not
amongst those people who can sit in air-conditioned offices and be
content with themselves. I am amongst those people who like to invent
things and bring them to the benefit of other people. I like to solve
problems by applying what I have learned in the classroom and through
different experiences during my lifetime. Through reading numerous
biographies of scientists who have impacted Electronic and Electrical
engineering, I came to know that a successful career in Electrical
Engineering is not easy. It is challenging and difficult, but that doesn't
worry me and my determination in pursuing a career in Electrical
Engineering is unfaltering.

I am also passionate about squash, table tennis, and swimming. I have

been playing table tennis and swimming since grade 4 and represented
my school in many inter-school tournaments. I never got to play squash
through my school or college due to unavailability of a proper course, but I
participated in many competitions from Army Garrison. I represented my
high school in Malaysia as the Vice Captain of Football Team as well. My
passion of managing people and situations can be gauged by the positions
I held during school events. I was the Assistant Director of PAFMUN 2016,
the biggest school organized Model United Nations (MUN) of Pakistan, the
Assistant Director Security Vibrance a school mega annual event,
Assistant Director Security Entreship 2.0 which was the Biggest School
Based Entrepreneurial Summit in Pakistan. In addition to this, I also
volunteered in other school based events such as PSDC and Entreship 1.0.
During summers, I worked part-time at a local medical center where I
helped at the reception and dealing with all kinds of patients. It also
assisted in developing my situation handling ability beyond my scope of
work.

Given my interests, experience, and skill set, I believe I can adapt to any
situation. I am confident one day I will make a mark in this world, and
people will remember me through one of my works. Therefore, I am ready
to pursue a university education and a career in Electrical Engineering.
