It is indeed a great pleasure as well as an experience working in your esteemed
organization as a summer trainee. The experience of working on this project
altogether cannot be explained in a limited space.

Acknowledgements are not the full expression of one’s gratitude towards the
person whose help is acknowledged.

Though language is an inadequate medium to express one’ sentiments it is the

only way one can recall one’s grateful indebtedness to once benefactor.

Words are boundless to express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Mr.

NILANKUR (HR Regional Head) for giving me the opportunity to work in the
reputed organization like E-nxt. I would like to thank Mr. Kishan Rathi my

INTRODUCTION

In today’s world, loan is very important for every person, as it is

not possible for all people to invest money or capital from own
pocket. Loan helps them to fulfill their objectives. Here we are
dealing with business loan, personal loan and auto loan. For all
this proper documentation is very much needed. It is not
possible for all people to purchase car or any vehicle with his

demand of the person.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

7 ACADEMY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The main objective of this project is to undergo 2 months / 8
weeks Summer Internship Program of my MBA Degree Course
under Biju Pattanayak University of Technology, from Academy
of Business Administration, Balasore.

This project offers a valuable opportunity to take a glimpse of

the financial loan with their credit processing. In proving a loan
there are many things which have to be kept in mind like low
EMI, rate of interest, then proper documentation ,tenure. There
are lots of different policies for different types of financial loan.
These needs to be known properly for functioning of the
business.

The project has been undertaken to learn the credit processing

and know the policies of the different financial loan. Knowing
the about the policies of the different loan would be very much
helpful in understanding the business process and fluently
work on it.

THE BUSINESS GROWTH OF NEW CAR FINANCE

Repossessed Car Sale Process

39 ACADEMY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

All vehicle in inventory where pre sale notice has expired and
any surrendered car will be eligible for sale
Actions taken to liquidate the collateral from a default must be
responsible in manner and should uphold the interest of all
parties.
The guidelines to govern this process are given below:
Appoint a minimum number of dealers (by market size) in each
city in order to have a large bidding universe.
Open up the bid process to other individuals and make it
transparent
Define methods and controls to ensure bid evolution process is
transparent
Improve data collection and define review cycles.
Define time line of each activity.
No TCL employees or their family members may purchase
repossessed automobiles sold by the TCL to recover
outstanding due. This will also cover empanelled collection
agencies, verification agencies, valuers, and sourcing
dealers /DAS or their associate entities.
Where ever online service provider is available the sale of the
repossessed vehicle should happen through them.
The online auctioneer circulates the list of the repo vehicles to
the respective bidders. The prospective bidders post inspection
of the vehicle submits the Earnest money Deposits (EMD) to the
auctioneer before participating in the auction. Winners are
instructed to pay TCL and take release of the vehicle.
Where online auction is not available each unit to have a
minimum number of three dealers for sale of repossessed cars.

40 ACADEMY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

All approved dealers are to be invited for bidding. Bids to be
allowed only with EMD to the tune of 25k for segment A&B cars
where as 100k for others.
Authorized letters to bidders will be issued by coll. Manager for
car inspection at the go down.
If sale is made with less than three bids it would require the
approval of RCM. If a sale is to be made on a single/sole bid,
than there must be a approval of Head- Collection or assigned
officer in CRM.
All bids receive are to be tabulated and consolidated.
All bids (valid/invalid/ successful/ unsuccessful) must be
preserved in a file.
Any exception to the above process needs to be documented
and approved by RCM.
For every car sold, a letter for Repossession vehicle sale cum
delivery letter must be obtained form the empanelled dealers/
buyer.

PERSONAL LOAN

An unsecured loan is a loan that is not backed by collateral.

Also known as a signature loan or personal loan.

Unsecured loans are based solely upon the borrower's credit

rating. As a result, they are often much more difficult to get
than a secured loan, which also factors in the borrower's
income. An unsecured loan is considered much cheaper and
carries less risk to the borrower.[citation needed] However,
when an unsecured loan is granted, it does not necessarily
have to be based on a credit score. For example, if your friend
lends you money without any collateral, meaning something of
worth that can be repossessed if the loan isn't repaid, then your
credit score has zero to do with it, but rather the value of your
friendship is at stake. Therefore the real meaning of an
unsecured loan is that it is not backed by any object of value
and is lent to you based on your good name. For financial
institutional purposes, they may want to look at your credit
score because they are not your friend and it is strictly a
business transaction, therefore your good name may be

TATA MOTAR FINANCE

TMF finances only Tata vehicles. It is other client of E-nxt.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

A developing economy like India craves for financial resources.

Often the traditional financial sector is not accessible to the
customers at large, thereby creating a need for financial
organizations catering to specific industries. The auto industry
worldwide has often faced the problem of finding the right
funding for its customers. These factors, along with the cyclical
nature of the auto industry, has induced automobile companies
to think of captive financing arms of the parent companies,
which would exclusively fund the parent products and also act
as a catalyst in certain areas for promoting the products. Tata
Motor Finance (TMF), the auto financing arm for Tata Motors,
came into existence in June 2003.
This was a common front-end, jointly formed by BHPC (Bureau
for Hire Purchase and Credit) of Tata Motors and the asset
financing arm of Tata Finance. This company was a virtual
entity, with both the divisions maintaining their legal identity,
and was in the market for exclusively financing Tata Motors
vehicles. Subsequently Tata Finance was merged with Tata
Motors and in April 2005 TMF became a division of Tata Motors.
CORPORATE PURPOSE

52 ACADEMY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

We aspire to be a preferred financier by choice for Tata Motors
customers & dealers across all its products. Tata Motor finance
would be the top-of-the-mind choice for all stakeholders when it
comes to Tata Motors products. We wish to set a benchmark in
captive finance nationally and internationally.

CREDIT PROCESS

FILE LOGIN: First a file is sourced from a channel then it comes

to CPA, Now checks KYC (know your customer). In KYC identity
proof, address proof, signature proof & 6 months bank
statement is checked from the file. If the file is ok then login is
accepted & entry made in the register & in MIS. If there is any
discrepancy in the file it is communicated to channels.

FI: FI stands for field Identification. FI agency is a third party

team which receipts a request from CPA through e-mail . FI
agency investigates the customers residence address& office
address given in the form is correct or not.IT also checks the
eligibility of the customer & whether customer is upto the
standard of taking loan or not. After all the investigation a
report is prepared & sent to CPA. CPA then attaches the report
with the file.

LOCAL dedupe : After FI linking, file moves for local de-dupe

check.CPA maintains a Copy of local database of the person
who have taken the loan from there company & all the details
about the loan & the repayment structure.CPA types the name,
phone no , date of birth, pan card no onthe online dedupe
sheet. Then match is found or not found. If match is found then
Status of earlier case checked. If earlier case is disbursed then

88 ACADEMY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

check for existing exposure details. .If earlier case is rejected
the Check the reason & scalate if it need to be revisited, else
rejected. If earlier case is approved or pending then heck the
reason & take the presen tlogin to close. Result is taken out &
attached to the file.

Cibil: Cibil is the Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited

(CIBIL) was incorporated in 2000. CIBIL’s aim is to fulfill the
need of credit granting institutions for comprehensive credit
information by collecting, collating and disseminating credit
information pertaining to both commercial and consumer
borrowers, to a closed user group of Members. Banks, Financial
Institutions, Non Banking Financial Companies, Housing Finance
Companies and Credit Card Companies use CIBIL’s services.
Data sharing is based on the Principle of Reciprocity, which
means that only Members who have submitted all their credit
data, may access Credit Information Reports from CIBIL. The
relationship between CIBIL and its Members is that of close
interdependence. The establishment of CIBIL is an effort made
by the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India to
improve the functionality and stability of the Indian financial
system by containing NPAs while improving credit grantors’
portfolio quality. CIBIL provides a vital service, which allows its
Members to make informed, objective and faster credit
decisions. Like in dedupe in cibil also data is put in & then
match is found or not found.

MIS: MIS is Management Information System. MIS is generally

used by medium and larger scale organizations. There is dire
need to build up computer culture by properly disseminating
information about computer applications and its benefits. For
monitoring the progress of implementation and for proper
control of activities, efficient information system should be
developed. In Mis all the information can checked at a
glance. All the process of CPA is updated in MIS.

CAM: CAM stands for credit appraisal process.C PA team

prepares cam. IN CAM 6 months bank statement is prepared in

89 ACADEMY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

the Cam sheet along with the customer details & FI details.&
sent it to credit manager attaching cibil & dedupe for credit
approval.

PROJECT REPORT

Being a summer trainee, I was in the CPA team. CPA plays a

bridging role between sourcing & disbursement. The CPA is
responsible for handling the end to end processing of the data
right from application to disbursement. They act as the
backbone for business.

For loan to sanction proper document is very essential. The

company would not sanction any loan with proper document.
My job was to learn all the process of the CPA department and
then to work on it. Process includes login in which we have to
check the KYC (know your customer, I linking, Local De-dupe,
Online De –duplication and CIBIL,RCU,CAM preparation ,Credit
appraisal, MIS Updating, Status Communication to market /
Sales, Post Sanction documents purchasing, File Checking,
Disbursement, PDD Updating.

I have leant all the process and also have worked for eight
weeks and understood all process of the company, how people
apply for the loan, what are the criteria, what are the
documents required, how the loan is being processed&
approved. This is all about the project report.
