1. Each student will have a sticky note on their desk that will say 2 mins (Day 1)

Activities
(Step by step - what is going to happen during the lesson?)
3. On the Smartboard go over the parts of a letter (attached) 25 mins (Day 1)
4. The students will get into groups according to their sticky note
and come up with either a heading, greeting, short body and
closing depending on the group
5. Once students complete this, the teacher will call upon each
group and write their responses on the board to visualize the
structure of a friendly letter.
6. Students will be assigned to write a short ( pg) rough copy of
their letter to the President at Ducks Unlimited Canada, telling
why they should be apart of the team

- What experiences have you had that would help in this position?

Following Day
1. Finish up rough copy on paper 28 mins (Day 2)
2. Students will partner up and peer edit each others letters - then
they will bring them to the teacher to ensure all edits were made
and corrected
3. Students will begin to type up their good copies on a
Chromebook that will be available to every student
4. These letters will be handed in the following day and mailed to
Ducks Unlimited Canada
