Introduction
The Mack organization has 700 employees in Midwestern United states and its offices are

situated all around the country. Here, the company has several different wage structures for its

employees; one is for executives and another is for clerical personnel. For the compensation

purpose, all clerical personnel is categorized into five job classification, such as, office service

aid, office service assistant, administrative assistant, senior assistant, and executive assistant. A

job evaluation is a formal and systematic comparison of jobs to determine the worth of one job

relative to another. A job classification is defined as job evaluation where the manager

categorizes jobs into groups based on their similarity in terms of compensable factors such as

skills and responsibility categories (Dessler, 2013 p. 191). A standing committee of each

department evaluates job positions of its employees on the basis of their responsibilities, work,

knowledge, accountability, and relationship with customers and employees. Also, every job is

allocated points, which determine the job classification and wage structure. (Dessler, 2013). Most

of the time employees start to work from the bottom line of salary grades and are considered for

a merit increase after six months of satisfactory performance and if the employees continue their

performance, then they may get annual merit increase upon completion of the suitable

performance. In addition, this organization is periodically increasing cost of living compensation

for its employees (Nkomo, Fottler, & McAfee, 2011).

Dear Mary Wallace,

I am truly thankful for the suggestion of promoting Susan Anthony as a senior assistant. Also, for

the last five years Susan Anthonys tenure with the company has been excellent. However, as per

your email she is not yet proficient and for that position we need an expert who can handle this

positional smoothly. Consequently, I would suggest you that as long as she wants to be

considered for the post of senior assistant, she needs to complete successfully the training

program of Adobe InDesign.

My Notes

Currently, Susan Anthony is working as an administrative assistant and we have a

vacancy of senior assistant post. Therefore, if she is proficient after the training program of

Adobe InDesign, then we will consider her for the position of senior assistant. In addition, I will

also provide the coaching classes of that particular program.

I like your honesty for letting me know regarding increasing of your salary. I know you have

been working with this company for last ten years with your good experience and dedication.

take it into consideration after such an examination and performance evaluation. I understand

possible and we will conduct a performance evaluation soon. If you will successfully meet the

criteria, then we will offer you a salary hike according to the company policy.

Dear Jane Swank,

Thank you for letting me know about this thing and I can understand that it is very unfair. Even

though, M.O. Scott has been working with this company for such a long time, still he has not

gotten any promotion chance in the last 23 years. Consequently, after some evaluations, if he can

meet the promotion criteria, then we will definitely offer him a senior assistant post.

I will get back to you on this situation as soon as possible.

Dear HR Director,

I will gather all information for the budget report of clerical workers, including job evaluations,

grade levels, and the different descriptions. Moreover, I will match our information with other

opponents and similar jobs. Therefore, we can provide better options for our clerical employees

to retain and encourage them in this company.

Dear Bob Franklin,

I can understand that even though your responsibility at this position is greater than that at other

office service aids, still you are paid less compared to them, because they have more experience

than you and they have passed this situation before and have received yearly promotions.

Therefore, I would like to point out that after six months of satisfactory performance, you will be

considered for merit increase and if your performance continues to be satisfactory, then you will

be considered to get the annual merit increase along with the a pay hike.

Thank you for letting me know about Tammy Tuffs hard work. I appreciate your request for

paying Tammy Tuff as a senior assistant. However, according to our companys policy, we

cannot pay more to any employee without promotion. Therefore, I would like to say that we will

consider her next promotional opportunity due to her excellent and distinct work.

Dear Chris Markley,

Standing Committee evaluates job positions on the basis of job performance, responsibilities,

knowledge, and work. Afterwards, it lists all positions according to the employees point values

and these point values are similar to the job duties. Therefore, I can say that it is just the same as

your job duties and your performance, which are based on your points.

Dear McNamara,

I think that Mary White should have taken permission before she left, because this is the

professional way that every employee should follow; still, if you need more information on this

issue, then you can read companys policy. Also, if you would like to arrange a meeting with her

on this issue, then I would highly recommend it and just let her know that next time if she would

like to leave early for any reason, then she must consult with her supervisor so that we can make

sure that her duties are covered.

Thank you for letting me know; first of all, I need to look at her schedule and have to compare

her job duties from her home to work in order that I can easily make a decision on this situation.

In addition, if her job duties have no relation with the office environment, then I would

recommend that she should start her work for one or two days at home so that we can easily

know that her work has no negative effect on the company.
